Out of all the professional sports commissioners today, Adam Silver is top notch. He's very thoughtful, honest, sincere, and approachable. If only Goodell would answer questions. I do wish he would expand the league by two teams, Seattle and Kansas City. I say KC, because basketball was invented only a few miles from there, and they would totally support a franchise. And Seattle is obvious; the Sonics was a great team. A few years ago, I did ask Silver if the NBA would have a tournament at the beginning of the season, include all teams, and kind of do a March Madness single elimination tournament to start the year; winner gets their conference home court advantage to start the finals. Or do that in lieu of the All Star Game. He said they were looking into doing something like that... or whoever writes for him in social media.

He said, “Group can invest in a team, and not have full control.” He also mentioned, “An individual can only buy an NBA team right now.” The last two words “right now,” we’re curious. “Right now” felt open ended that the ownership requirements could change. Silver is always very careful with his wording, and they never come to interviews unprepared. Dan always says listen to what they say.

All Star game should follow NHL approach. Mini-tourament using divisions. Shorter games (around a quarter in length) where teams have 5 starters and 1 bench player. Have them draw their oppenent. Losers play in "3rd" qtr, winners play in 4th for the title. More intention competition for bragging rights
