Great review. Mine arrived today and agree with all of your comments and balanced view. I did a comparison against a lot of other monitors including the hs5, hs7, hs8, 5vs and ax models,and these sounded great. I really liked the hs8 but they were too big for my studio.

While I agree with you about the volume knob, I'm confused. You put them at zero, they didn't sound level matched, you balanced them out and they landed at...zero??

The issue was that I wanted to be 100% sure that they were even. You’d be surprised how little movement can shift the stereo image.

I think the low end is great, but I myself use a subwoofer.

4:23 or you could have simply used your ears, while playing a sine or sth... if you move your head 5cm to the left or right, the loudness will change a lot anyway... so what is the point of it? I do agree tho that a step at 0dB comes handy... and concerning 03:13 cost. simple as that. this way the led is on the back plate, together with all the other knobs, amp and stuff. and to differentiate them to the a7x also.

I wanted to be sure. That's why I used a sine wave and a DB meter. As for cost, other monitors have a light and a stepped knob that are a fraction of the cost of the T7V. I don't think that cost is the reason for that. I just think they were some weird design choices. Nothing to stop anyone from buying them though.

I got hs7, but I think these are one of the only monitors at this price range than can compete with yamahas. I like my hs7s because these are very boring sounding and scream all the things that are wrong in the mix, which forces me to make better mixes. For producing I cant really use them because they are so boring :D

For general use like listening music, mixing, producing etc definitely go with T7Vs. For ONLY mixing my vote goes to hs7, but they both do the job.

I almost went for the yamahas for that reason actually. I've always heard that things stick out like a sorry thumb when there's something wrong. However I just decided to take a leap on these. But you're totally right! They both will do the job just fine!

Gotcha! Damn I'm dumb. Totally thought you were referring to the RGB lol. I see what you mean. It didn't bug me on my Mackie's personally, but you never know.
