I have to thank you for this guide. I did not follow it exactly in terms of setup, but your video and the way you showed how you managed positioning helped me a lot. Tonight, I finally beat this MFer, but with guns, chaos volley, void and a Death Angel. This fight is a lot about patience, picking your spots, and not getting too greedy, which in the beginning I was overly aggressive. I took what openings Adam gave me and was finally rewarded. Anyways, despite the fight being hell, it is among my favorites due to strategy and tactics. Dude, your video is still helping people one way or another. I seriously think I became a better player just with this fight alone.

Nice job! And I know what you mean. He's my favorite fight by a lot honestly. I wish they hadn't nerfed Dracula on Brutal mode. That would've been my favorite, but since he was nerfed, this one takes the cake (even though Adam was also nerfed).

Easy call out tip you missed but basically typed to the dude at 10:29. Jumping down from the cliff on the left side when leaving. I've only fought Adam once, and watched this to get some tips, that one with leaving if you got no spare EMP with you is a good one to note for anyone doing this in future, since everyone will probably bat in, but then you cant go into bat form with the shard. (even though you need the EMP to break into the castle anyway)

I finally beat Adam thanks to this guide after unistalling the game and then reinstalling lol. Got him down to his third phase so many times. Easily the most frustrating boss in the game. Now I guess I'll just do Dracula and that'll be that lol. Thanks for the tips.

found ball lightning way better than chaos volley. you just throw it on the laser and it will kill it by itself allowing you to focus on adam

It's nice, but for me the range is just too useful on chaos volley AND I can split the shots etc. Gives me more freedom on where I put my damage

Yeah he is insanely hard. I used the same combo I used when I beat him in brutal and even then it took me a few tries. P3 try void+ball lightning, and then 2nd half of P3 I use either double counters or counter + ball lightning. I used Morningstar E in brutal mode for damage while he stands still, but I didn't have it this run so I went with Reaper E instead.

@@terribletimmy2 Still working on it ( I only play about an hour or so a day) but I make it to p3 very consistently now without losing a lot of health. Killing the spawns in the first part of p3 is a bit rough in the sense that a lot of them get absorbed which inflates his health but progress is progress.I think once I get the ebb and flow of all the things going on in the last part of p3 Ill be okay. Super appreciate your videos by the way. The first one I saw was the adam guide when gloomrot came out and that helped a lot at the time. It was what made his brutal mode fight very doable.

They will definitely help if you use them at the right time. You can technically use them the entire fight if you want as well. They'll help in phase 1 almost just as much.

I can't seem to do this on normal but watching you explain it is extremely helpful with the chaos barrier. Is Chaos barrier the best shield to use here? Also realizing the shield he puts up putting out lightning balls explains why my summons were killing me lol. Also the note about slashers in his second phase was really helpful. I have the legendary pistols, 89 gear level and on normal I just couldn't get this guy down, but this should significantly help. Thank you

In terms of shields, I would say yeah it's the best. Ignite damage helps keep him taking damage consistently throughout the fight. IMO though, one of the best defensive options is Bloodrite with the jewel that gives invisibility on trigger. That invis doesn't break when you perform an action, and you're invuln while invis, so you can counter something and instantly potion or reposition. But overall, chaos barrier works fine.

I played the patch before this and got really good at beating him on that, and then had a strat that involves rushing to shard bosses and beating them all 9 lvls lower. I actually beat him first try on brutal because I had already practiced him so much. In the beta, they originally made it so his lasers could never be shut off! I still managed to beat him first try there because I'm so used to fighting him in a small area, and fighting on level, even on brutal, isn't too difficult for me compared to the old patch 9 lvls lower. He's def a challenge though, and I there's no other bosses like him, which makes adapting to his patterns and dealing with the hazards really difficult to get used to.

What’s the benefit to taking ice dash over chaos dash? I like having the double dash with chaos, but is there a benefit for ice over chaos?

Both work. Frost gives a bigger health pool and increases your damage by 5% while he's chilled (if you have the passive for it)

You can make them work I'm sure, but it will be way harder. When he makes a broken laser come back down, it's locked for 30 seconds or something, so opening the entire arena to give you space to use now etc isn't a thing I think

I keep getting hit through shield by melee swings in second phase how do I make it block them? ETA at 6:42 it happens for you, this happens to me almost every time I try to shield that melee

Yep. I think it has something to do with how close I am to him. When he's right on top of me, it seems to hit behind the shield.

@@terribletimmy2 I considered that but perfect example at 6:13 y’all are practically hugging and it blocks. Is it maybe like a specific zone? Like if you’re super close it blocks, if you’re far enough away it blocks but if you’re in some Goldilocks distance he’ll sweep you?

I'm going to try Adam with your build. Thank you for the guide. But when you mention Blood Rite, you say you want Invisibility rolled on it. But what does invisibility do in this game, and against Adam? Do you lose aggro?

So invis drops aggro yes, but the unique thing about bloodrite invis is that it's tied to your immaterial duration, which means 2 things: - While invis, you are also invincible - Your invisibility only ends when your invincibility ends This allows you to proc bloodrite, and then perform actions safely during the 1.2 seconds you're invisible. If possible, it's also preferred to have the jewel effect that extends immaterial up to 25%, as this ALSO extends the invisibility timer So it creates a situation where you counter something Adam has, and the second it goes off, you can pop a potion and it will begin healing you before he can reacquire you as a target. It also allows you to start channeling attacks while invis, and it won't break the invisibility, creating opportunities to do things like Pistol Q in moments where normally you likely couldn't have done it

Nice guide for sure, but do you play on 0,5 speed or something? Because he looks pretty slow, while on the server I tried him today, he even avoids my Void spells with his short dashes and I am barely able to follow him with my mouse cursor o_O This distance, at 5:44, leads to an instant impale before I even can turn the camera. The thing is, I have 49/49 achievements ~600h and I can beat Drac on Brutal, but Adam is impossible for me Solo and quitted this run after 3h and dozens of potions consumed.

Haha no I don't play on reduced speed. It's overwhelming when you do it while unfamiliar. I've done this fight in significantly harder conditions than Brutal mode. It's pretty engrained in me now so I can anticipate pretty much everything he's going to do. The point at 5:44, I'm watching for that exact attack.

I played pretty risky in the lsst version, used the great sword leap against his leap. Inulvnerable during the impact and hit him with the sword when he lands. Timing took a few tries to get right though lol

I believe frost barrier would do something like 120% if you catch all 3 hits? Maybe a bit more with the passive that increases damage to chilled targets. Chaos Barrier does 50%+(40%x3)+50% via ignite ticks. I'll need to check it, but I think Chaos barrier is superior here in particular

I honestly don't understand why they say that Adam is strong on brutal difficulty, I didn't even know it was possible to destroy the ray machines, I fought him on a terrain that looked more like a chessboard, I defeated him on the second attempt at lv 86, no soul shards.... oh, I forgot to say, I've never played on normal difficulty, I'm new to the game and I've already started on brutal difficulty. I'm Brazilian, sorry if my English isn't correct.

Funny story, brutal mode originally made it so the lasers couldn't be turned off. People complained so it was changed to what it is now. The thing is, I also practiced this boss originally without breaking the lasers AND was able to beat him consistently 7 lvls lower with little issue. So when I tried it on brutal and the lasers couldn't be broken, I didn't think it was too bad and beat him first try.

Not fully cheese, but if you start the fight, wait for the lasers to become breakable, break a few, and then leave the fight and restart, sometimes the lasers you broke will not come back down right away when you start the fight over again. It lets you have more room in the beginning of the fight, and then you break the other lasers when the bugged ones start being activated.

It's again one of those bosses where RNG can absolutely fuck you up on the lighting strikes. If the lighting just completely saturates the area around him you'll get hit.

The lightning actually has a certain amount of range around him. It's similar to the ultimate his shard gives, just lasts way longer.

If you're comfortable learning to swap weapons, you can make the bow work. Pistol and slasher don't necessarily have to be a high level to still be used for I-frames
