Once you get used to the way a spinning ball must fly projecting the path becomes instinctual. Physics never lies. But yes, she is good and understands that a good crisp smash has a force vector that overwhelms any residual torque that light little ball can transmit. It is a soft return shot that gets you in trouble with spin shots.
@douglasharley24402 жыл бұрын
she's an excellent player for sure, i'd guess she's probably rated probably around 2300, but her style gives her a big advantage against adam... she hits a very flat forehand, relatively soon off the bounce, and uses her excellent reach very well, so adam's crazy spin game is pretty much totally negated. he really had to play a much more orthodox defensive style against her here, and while it's never easy to beat him, she had more than enough. she's good at controlling her emotions too, because early in the match she started to get flustered, but just bore-down on her game and ended that.

She plays some of the most beautiful open style table tennis I have ever seen. Technically brilliant, no traps, no tricks, just plain, pure aggression. Her footwork is excellent, her backhand smash the best I've ever seen. When Adam tries to conter her aggressive style, there is no chance for him, she's way too fast. Only with his extreme spin stuff he can break her. But after she realised that it's no holidays in the first set, she geared up a bit. Still, Adam is incredibly good with his extreme spins, very difficult to predict.

Adam, in the rematch, can you choose a venue with higher ceiling? I wonder how she'll play against your super high lob shots. I've played against you in many rated events and those super high lob shots definitely are tough to handle...
@yogendrasinhpgamityogglan48443 жыл бұрын
Oh really, it's awesome, just fainted you say...
@jordanstein12173 жыл бұрын
I don't think it will matter that the next rematch (if there was really going to be a rematch) will involve a venue with higher ceiling. She has Adam's game figured out. She flat hits hard. That means two things. One, Adam does not have the opponent's spin to work with. When the opponent loops or does a loop skill, Adam can use that spin against the opponent. It is like if you serve a very spinning serve, the return will be come back very spinning as well to you. You have to be ready for it. So Anastasiia, by flat hitting only, takes away a lot of spins that would have otherwise come back to bite her. Then her flat hits are very fast so Adam does not have time to snake and put weird spins on it. Then if Adam switches to a more conventional style of playing, she is a better, more consistent higher rated looper/player. Either way, it is hard for Adam to win. I am sure Adam will win some matches but more likely than not, Anastasiia has Adam's number.

That was an exciting match!! I haven't played for ages but hearing that ball bounce and getting hit brings back memories. I like Adam's unique serves and defensive returns (that sideways spin return was a beauty!) and Anastasiia is not only pro... she's fit too~!! ^.^

This is one of Adam's serious matches instead of just fun and kidding. We understood that Adam's had many professional skills altogether.

I think Adam enjoys facing difficult shots and sometimes plays easy replies in a way to allow the opponent to smash or put him in that predicament. Sorts of gets in pressure positions to become comfortable at those shots.
@cory3562 жыл бұрын
This may be you coping. I think she’s just a better player. Especially if you include the limited space they were in. Adam was absolutely trying to win this game.

@@cory356 nah in fairness Adam tries to play nice table tennis whereas her style is purely based on smashing it every point just trying to win. Not saying she's bad or anything but it's a friendly match

Nothing like stepping back 5 ft off the table, digging the ball up from beneath the table with aggressive body english, back and forth for the point. Thanks for bringing back happy memories from a mispent youth. That's good stuff.

When Anastasiia has retired from table tennis coaching she could have an amazing career as a model or even just a smile model if there is such a thing. It's just not right that someone can have such amazing skill and be so incredibly beautiful. She even scare Adam's snake away. Only about 3 snakes in the match compared to the usual of 1 every few points.
