My dad had a sapphire, it wasn't a cosworth but it was such a nice comfortable car to ride in compared to other affordable cars back then and I'd say it was probably his best car he has ever had for the times

Get a short shift on it,only like £50 and totally transforms the gearbox, and when he has the gear lever cradle off, repair the 'spider' the tiniest bit of play in that translates to inches of play at the gearstick. Also replace the cradle bushes with powerflex. Difference will be night and day. Just did all the above on mine last week, it really was stirring a bowl of porridge. Lovely and snappy now 👌🏼

My mate who had a kebab shop in the late 90s actually ran a Sapphire Cosworth as a taxi as his second job. He ran a 190E Cosworth after that as one. And yes he was very dodgy 😆

Seen that add about a week ago and thought, 5 grand cheaper than what I have now lol. Seems to have had a fair amount of bling under bonnet and probably not standard, seems a bit too good to be true. Lack of info in ad doesn't help, nice vid and like the saph, wouldn't mind seeing some more old skool stuff. :-)

The engine in that cosworth is a 2 litre pinto bottom end but cosworth made um stronger , with a cosworth head , they are still the dogs bollox
