I'll say this for Leah Remini, even though she's left this cult and she was treated badly by these people and she's now dedicated to taking them down she does it in the most respectful way. She still is careful to follow rules so people still inside don't get hurt, she tells people not to laugh when she talks about the doctrine. She's excellent at calmly and thoughtfully explaining just how Scientology works and by resisting any urge to get angry or passionate she manages to make it even clearer just how dangerous it is.

Sorry Mary, but Katie Holmes had no idea what she was getting into until she was all the way in. They surrounded her with handlers and staff who were all Scientologists and whose job it was to keep her involved. The first "courses" are literally self-help courses that Hubbard cribbed from other books, so when she took them it didn't seem like anything nefarious. She also never got to see any of the dark side because Tom never sees any of the dark side. The celebs are treated like royalty and whatever they want they get - as long as they are super famous. Miscavige is practically in love with Cruise and has gone through great lengths to make sure Tom is never unhappy or sees anyone unhappy with the church. ANd Tom wanted his wife to be treated the same way, so it wasn't until Tom insisted that Suri go to a boarding school in Oregon at age 6

She was pretty much a conditioned zombie when the baby was born. Photos pre Tom. Photos post Tom. Clearly, she was being run into the ground just like every other Scientologist slave is. What I do really like about Leah is that she keeps her calm and is supporting others who have left and been affected. When trying to look at it subjectively.. it can be hard because some may see me as a betrayer but this is not about me.. but looking at the issues that I can personally see that might be damaging. If I believe in what I do I try to be considerate within that. To help reduce the amount of damage done, because at the end of the day we are talking about real people.. with real hurts. To be allowed to talk about certain issues allows for the issues to be considered and weighed up from both sides. Family members do suffer too. That's what I would like to see reduced as much as possible.

My mom once visited a Scientology church in Italy (it’s located in Padova) and she told me that it was horrible what she saw. Everyone in that building are robots with no free will, you get chastised harshly for trying to escape and talking to a psychiatrist (as you know, the “church” is vehemently against psychiatry), their therapy treatments are dangerous like Thetans, Xenu, Narconon, etc., L. I barked at one on the street when this creepy lost whack job offered me a card from the scientologists group. I told him to stop bugging me. They will pay that stupid bugger minimum wage to stand out there and bug people. Really. the guy looked like a half wit. I'm not against people who need help but, Scientologists just like any cult, prey on lost people with major problems that are liable to believe their personality test if they can get a job and fed. If it such a great religion, why aren't the other billion people on the planet buying it? It's like when the commercial claims that this drug with fix something. If it's so great, why haven't more people caught on to it? Cults are very secretive and move around a lot. They claim they have the answer to life's problems. Just believe and it will all go away. The shitty thing is, once you believe that, your life will spiral into hell. there are people who want to believe but, these snake oil salesman will take your soul, your money, your reputation, hook, line and sinker. Whatever they tell you about how inadequate you are, remember it's a sales game.

All propaganda is most effective when it is able to skirt the radar of logic. Definitely a bromance between Cruise and Mr. Head of Scientology. For Cruise, it's about getting stroked like royalty 24/7, and for Mr. Scientology Leader it's about using the vacant Tom to lend credibility to this dangerous cult. These two could consider getting married if Scientologists weren't such flagrant homophobes. Maybe if the marriage were platonic it would be more palatable to Scientology sensibilities. Anything is possible in the realm of science fiction. I await the wedding announcements. In lieu of that, perhaps they'll exchange friendship bracelets. Aw ... wouldn't that be sweet? On a personal note, I've never met more foul, nasty individuals in my life when I told them I would think about shelling out thousands of dollars for their 'training' course. Wow. If they want adherents, they really need to work on their sales approach. I don't see how "they" can enforce a deal about who a legal adult is allowed to speak to after you leave a religion. I mean seriously, I thought America was "the land of the free". So how are these deals legal? And Katie Holmes has a lot to be ashamed of for her behaviour in the early days. Leah has admitted to writing reports on her husband, and her husband wrote them about her. It's all part of the CoS cult scam to get information they can use against anyone who leaves. When Leah merely asked David Miscavige "Where's Shelly?" it was innocent. Leah and Shelly were good friends; Leah was probably expecting a reply like "oh, go find her out by the garden." Instead, everyone went silent. Suddenly, Leah knew there was more to the story and kept asking. So anyone who was anybody wrote Leah up on this. My guess is that Katie did this at the behest of her groom, but who knows? Katie got sucked into Scientology because 1) major crush on Tom and 2) the initial course aren't too crazy or expensive, and a lot of ex-Scientologists have said they were beneficial. We'll likely never know Katie's full story, since she's rightly protecting Suri.

Everyone here's a story , back in the mid 90's I was kind of wandering around downtown Seattle no direction when I was approached by one of those Scientologists. I remember I went inside the office which wasn't by any means fancy it was rather drab, plain. I filled out a card putting my Mothers home address on it. I remember that the guy had promised Scientology would improve my life I would have happiness, etc, etc, Well when I went to visit Mom in the hospital over the summer my Stepfather brought me a piece of mail from you guessed it SCIENTOLOGY! I was at this office around '94'! SHEESH!
