I was just listening to the canine part of this and wanted to throw my two cents in. There is a command for a canine to out but any good canine will only respond to their handlers voice. If you think back to whenever he let the dog loose on you probably would remember him yelling something in German or czech or Russia. Police canines are trained in foreign languages and usually only the department and people close to the handler know which language that dog speaks. Downside to having a dog notice unfortunately they don't always listen sometimes they're just having too much fun because it's a game

Thank you for saying this. A lot of them do Schutzhund training and we have a sable GSD we taught a bit of that to, but she’s a family dog. We know a fantastic trainer of GSD police dogs and Belgian Malinois and they are super responsible and there is definitely an “out” they teach. I’d hate for people to assume they all are just running around rogue, unstoppable. If that does happen, no excuse for it.
