18:30 - Back in the late 90s, my buddies and I left a 12-pack with one of the hot dog guys outside of Yankee Stadium. We figured we weren't going to see it again and went to enjoy the game. On our way out after the game, he waved us down to give it all back to us. He kept it in his cooler and didn't ask for anything in exchange. The days of our high-trust society are long gone.

Here in Oregon they pump your gas, unless it’s on weekends in a small town, then you can pump it yourself. Actually, as an elderly disabled person, not having to pump. Gas is quite wonderful. Back in California they said they would allow one gas pump employee to remain, but that disappeared quickly. So now if you’re elderly or disabled and you live in California, you have to find a passerby who’s kind enough to pump your gas for you.

The original Zenith remote control was comprised of four tuning forks of different frequencies. Each frequency controlled a different function. It was completely mechanical. No batteries required.

So glad you said this about Stucco. I despise it! I have installed it, inspected it, and had been physically harmed by it as did everyone I knew, like it was just the way life was, as I lived in San Diego for 30 years, all stucco every house. Skating back in the day in SD you hit a stucco wall, over, you hit a normal block wall or any other siding, yeah it hurts but doesn't shred your skin like a cheese grater. Now in Texas, just vinyl, maybe some brick and stone.

I remember the sound remotes. My grandparents had an old set with that. It might be a false memory but I swear I learned how to make the noise with my mouth and change the channel.

Former corporate/charter jet pilot here. I don't know how much a first class ticket is L.A. to N.Y.C. and back is, but a private jet like a G4 is about $7,000 per hour x 12 hours. If you're staying over, it's 4 hours per day minimum plus crew expenses. There are a lot of airline flights every day. It's all about Benjamin's.

Lol, the "Thank you for having your ID out," and then everyone getting their IDs out reminds me of a good friend of mine in Korea (Korean dude I hung out with and taught English). One day, we were in a massive subway station, and he goes, "On my cue, start running," and we were at the front of aa huge crowd, hundreds of people, and we just started running, and they all followed, haha. Get to the platform, boy, they were surprised there was no train, haha, but we knew.

So I'm an airline pilot, you have a massive hole in your charge by weight theory that you probably aren't aware of. I also know you don't read the comments so this is for the comment section folk. Airlines pretty much always fly at max weight now. The reason for that is at some point mail carriers realized that passenger planes had a ton of open cargo space on board that they could use. So now the airlines sell that cargo space to the mail carriers to make more money. So at the end of the day, the weight per customer doesn't mean anything because they are always going to top the plane off with as much mail as possible. And they assume 170lbs per female passenger and 190lbs per male passenger with bags. I'm cool with the idea that if you weight close to double the average, you should have to buy two tickets. Hell, you can even have the extra seat. If your 600lbs, you buy three tickets. Fuck peoples feelings already.
@philoreagan85155 сағат бұрын
I don't see the hole. I save money because I weigh less and the airline sells the excess to mail carriers. Where is the hole?
@homertalkСағат бұрын
If they weighed everyone, they could get rid of the assumed weight and save skinny people money or give them more baggage.

I was the only passenger on a 20 seater once I was made to feel first class and got to go into the cabin until we hit a storm and myself and both of the crew members were made to go sit in the back seats Terrifying as hell Then when we landed they unloaded my 100+lb bag and the guy looked at me and said "I don't know how this got by, but you may have saved our lives" I know exactly how it got by Before boarding the flight was delayed for 30 mins and I overheard them saying they did not have enough weight

Guest decision adaptation iterative process is formalized By th OODA loop (vietnam era pilot/Colonel ). Observe, orient, decide, act... repeat as necessary. The letter from the mom is probably cause she's on the spectrum. I say this cause it could have been a letter I might have written. It's not courage, it's a need to understood, ie context for all things to avoid ambiguity and to more fundamentally not be accidentally misunderstood.
