As one who has never severed ties with friends / acquaintances over politics, BUT others have with me, going tit-for-tat isn't the way to go. Solution? Find better friends who welcome disagreements, share similar value of friendship, play and fight fair. Problem is, even an older mentor figure of mine, who is mature and disciplined and successful in other areas of his life went wimpy when we got into a serious, fairly heated debate over Trump, for example. My assumption was that since he provoked some of it he was then fine with actually sparring over it. He wasn't, and he made me out to be the bad guy, in effect. Believe me, it was very tempting to verbally lay into him over his immature, cheapshot tactics, but it would be letting, yet again, "politics" divide us. As much as I lost respect for him, I'm not going to let the meta-chess brainwashing win in sowing more divide in America. He and I agreed to let it go and to just not go there in our relationship. Not my ideal, but good enough.

I lived in CA in the 2000s. It was okay and better than it is now, but it was in the midst of a free fall that started in the 90s. The main issue is the prohibitively high cost of housing (which I consider a form of redlining). CA was much more affordable in the early 2000s and prior. But since ~2002, CA has become prohibitively expensive. Then there's the issue of homelessness, taxes, and more regulations.

In Indiana, we scan our licenses that allow the registrar to see our info and then assigns our specific ballot to a card. The voter then hands that to the person who inserts it into the electronic voting machine to pull up the correct ballot. Before official cast, we review the ballot in print. Super slick, super fast.

I've been in love with Adam since I was 15. I'm 48 now. I can understand his loyalty to Jimmy. That's a true friend. Jimmy got him his first job at KROQ and Adam is eternally grateful.
