Price Technic everything is better than Roy in my opinion. Price have better stats than Roy, and Roy was only higher than 0.920% 3 times in his entire career. Finished with 0.910%. Price was 6 time higher than 0.920, and 2 times higher than 0.930 (0.933/0.934) and Finished at 0.917%. Also, in my opinion, Roy had better teams in front of him than Price. @@christophergaumond1901 i agree a save percentage isnt really a good way to guage how good a goalie is. If a goalie makes 100/100 saves in a game but every shot was right at him then it doesnt mean hes a good goalie in fact it shows the defense is really making it hard on the offense to get a good shot off. But Luongo is a really great goalie who deserved a cup as well and its really impressive the amount of saves he made with the amount of seasons and games he played. I believe he even gave the panthers their highest save percentage season or goalie of all time in the latter part of his career when most goalies are starting to be washed up

What's even crazier is that Carey Price is known for his incredible positioning. most of his saves are not at all spectacular which is why he is seen as one of the most talented goalies of all time. I think he's in the top 3 with Brodeur and Roy, but sadly never won a cup, and had a career filled with injuries which arguably makes his stats and performances that much more incredible. I'm not sure the league will ever have a goalie as dominant as him again.

Price is arguably in the conversation of being the best goaltender ever in his prime. He only had one player breach 80 points in a season on his team during his career. His team has been mediocre to poor almost every year. If he had been drafted by another handful of teams he probably would have won multiple Stanley cups and more Vezina trophies. Price had an entire career with a reputation of being consistently DOMINANT in the playoffs, even in his last season playing injured, where he lead the Canadiens to the finals, a run no one expected. Pricer was my goalie partner in midget AAA. Being from a small town with 2 rinks, we could get the ice to ourselves just about anytime we wanted. I could keep up with him back then but it took everything I had and he just made it look effortless. I was about 25 before I could finally admit he was better than me lol. About Carey Price situation right now...apparently his knee injury he got 2 years ago isn't healing very well even after some procedure and goalie with his style use them a lot. It's not official yet, but because of that, his career is pretty much over, 2 years ago was his last window to win the cup. He was one of the best goalie of the 2000 and 2010 in the NHL, top team Canada goalie in Olympic where he won the gold medal. He is a case of insane good goalie with rarely great team in front of him, Montréal was manage poorly in the 2000...There is a new management team in Montréal since last year, but Price doesn't seems to be part of the plan and his retirement seems more and more inevitable. He has many records with Montréal like most win in Franchise history but the question remain if he is a Hall of Famer with no cup. Henrik Lundqvist who never won it too was introduced this year so...

These saves made by Price are very reminiscent of one goalie in particular. As far as I'm concerned, as good as Patrick Roy and Martin Brodeur were, they're both fighting for second place behind Dominik Hasek (and that's coming from a Montreal-born hockey fan). His style of play stifled and aggravated players. The numbers speak for themselves. He still has the NHL’s highest career save percentage. He’s also the only goalie ever to lead the league in both shots faced per 60 minutes and save percentage in the same season, and he did it twice!! He's the first European starting goalie to win the Stanley Cup. And the hardware he amassed throughout his career is just insane. 2 Hart Trophies (only goalie to do that) 2 Lester B. Pearson Awards 6 Vezina Trophies (absolutely insane) 3 William M. Jennings Trophies 1 Olympic Gold 1 Olympic Bronze 4 World Championship medals (1 silver and 3 bronze) 3 World Junior silver medals 2 Stanley Cups Needless to say, he earned his nickname "The Dominator."

Carey Price (the 🐐) played his last game in the 2021-2022 season where he missed every game after the Canadiens cup run when they were the least favoured team to reach the final. Carey single-handedly brought them there on one knee! His last game was a 10-2 victory. This man means alot to the city and fans of Montreal. During his career he only had one player in front of him reach a point per game (Alexei Kovalev in 2007, Careys rookie season). Many injuries would set him and the team back during his tenure as a Hab. Most Notably won 4 of the biggest trophies in the 2014-2015 season, which only a handful of players in LEAGUE HISTORY have accomplished this feat. Undoubtedly wouldve won many cups if the management actually gave him a good team. Currently he is still under contract for the next 3 seasons, and is on long term injured reserved because he is too injured to play. Unfortunate because if anyone deserves a cup, it is this guy. Montreal loves you Carey, he made a generation of kids (some who play in the NHL right now) fall in love with hockey and influenced them in their playstyle. No i did not google all this, i was a first hand witness of his skill, poise, and love for the game. -Sincerely, one of Careys biggest fans. 💙🤍❤️

The consensus top 3 goalies of all time are Hasek, Roy and Broduer in whatever order you want to debate. I personally think the best goalie ever is between Hasek and Roy. Carey Price has had many huge injuries in his career starting in 2015. He’s one of 2 goalies to ever win the Ted Lindsay which is for the best player voted by all the other players. I think if he never got injured he would definitely be a consensus top 3-4 goalie of all time with a case for the best. Even though he’s had all these injuries he’s still had many miraculous runs, recently taking the lowest seed team to make the playoffs all the way to the final.

But, for what it's worth, it seems to me like Carey Price is the best not because of the spectacular saves he's made (although, obviously, it takes a special kind of talent and discipline ot be able to do that) but because he was consistently good throughout his career. The thing with goalies in NHL hockey is that the "best of the best," while they are very capable of making these flashy, huge saves, they succeed because they don't put themselves in those situations in the first place. The "best" are ironically the ones that rarely let in the shitty goals that the ones below them might. Carey Price is arguably one of the best netminders of all time, but take a look at Patrick Roy, Martin Brodeur, and the like - they're obviously capable of huge saves you'll find in highlight reels, but their overall career save %s and such statistics aren't all eye candy, they just stop pucks more often than anyone else.

Carey Price is one of the best goaltenders to never win the cup, it's a tragedy. If you want more goalies to react to, look up: Patrick Roy Martin Brodeur Henrik Lundquist Dominik Hasek Chris Osgood Tim Thomas

Patrick Roy is often considered the greatest goalie of all time. Greatest single season could be considered to be Tony Esposito who had 15 shutouts back in the early 70's which is a record still to this day (not including George Hainsworth's 22 shutouts in 44 games but that is considered before the modern era). If Ken Dryden hadn't had such a short career he might have been considered the greatest, he won 6 Stanley Cups in only 8 years. He was the only player of any position to win the Conn Smythe Trophy (MVP of the Playoffs) before he won the Calder Trophy the next year as rookie of the year.

Yes, he was injured the last 2 seasons. He played a total of 30 games. He's now retired (he didn't announce it due to the salary stuff, but we all know). He was injured but also had addiction issues. Painkillers and alcohol if I remember correctly. He got in the NHL's player assistance program in oct. 2021

Price is actually retired because of injury, he and Shea Weber tried and gave everything in Stanley cup final but didn’t win. His still on contract but the assurance pays him so that’s why his not officially retired even if he move out of Montréal this year. The Canadiens knows he still a favorite of the fans so we see him a lot hanging around in team event
@stephaneferron53177 ай бұрын
Definitely the most technical goalie of all time and to me the best of all time , for him to hold most records as à Montréal Canadiens goalie and being the goalie with the lowest offensive support in nhl history! This guy on a good team would have 4 cups easy

"The Swipe" is called a windmill save. You are correct, he has been out all this season and MUCH of last because of a knee injury. It doesnt really look too good for him coming back, though he isn't contemplating retirement. "Who's that guy?" That, sir, is Patrick Roy (Roy pronounced "Wah"). He used to be a Canadien, and is regarded as one of the GOATS of goaltending. Referring to your question if every goalie uses their limbs - check out Dominik Hasek. You're welcome.

Carey Price's tecnique is by far the best ever. He is one of the best for sure, many of his saves doesn't seems impressive because he was always well positionned. He is currently injured and will unfortunately never play again.

Marc-Andre Fleury, Dominic Hasek, Patrick Roy, Conor Hellebuck … just a few names for AMAZING goalies, bro. I am CERTAIN that I could list off five more great goalies but check these insanely sick players tho. You won’t regret it bro. Trust me. Great vids, Cool’ser. You’re cool af 🫵🏽👊🏽🖖🏽

Price is all but officially retired. After his finals run in 2021, he has been battling chronic injury and I think played less than 5-10 games 2 years ago and none last year. Won gold with canada but never the stanley cup with montreal. Patrick roy (of 3:19) and martin brodeur are the greatest goalies of all time, and if you like price’s flair maybe check out dominic hasek highlights As a 21st century habs fan price is my goat

Goalies are a different breed, known for being a little different most of the time. Gotta be to stand in a net and have pucks fired at you 😉 In his prime, Carey was the best goalie in the world. We Habs fans definitely miss him 💙🤍♥️

Price is widely viewed as the best goalie of this generation. Even other NHL goalies (of this generation) have said so. Some haters will raise the argument that if he's that good, how come he never won the Stanley Cup? Well, sadly its because we (Montreal) never gave him good, consistent offense in front of him. Sadly it DOES appear that Price's playing days are now over. He WILL still be around the team occasionally in some capacity, but he hand his family have moved back to BC (the other side of the country). There are rumours that in a few years, when he's ready, he might become a goalie coach for Montreal. Oh, and those saves where Price's arm seem to come out of nowhere, on those saves, he's generally catching the puck in his glove. Price was also generally viewed as the best puck moving goalie, when he played the puck with his stick. Also, the guy you asked who he was, in the stands - that was Patrick Roy, another great goalie from Montreal's storied history - he was the goalie for Montreal when they won their last Stanley Cup in 1993, which was the last time a Canadian team won the Cup.

Also the French part you hear is because Montreal is in the French speaking Canadian province of Quebec, so all of their game is usually double casted in French and English.

Carey Price is the best goalie of his generation. It's a terrible shame he never had a good team. Never had a teammates who hit 80 points in a season or 40 goals. When playing for team Canada he put up some record stats during the Olympics. His career would've been even better if he had never been crashed into, after that he was always battling knee injuries which eventually ended his career. Apparently he can't walk up stairs without some pain.

Price was very good in his prime. There have been lots of great goalies: Terry Sawchuk from the no mask era, Gerry Cheevers, Dominick Hasek, Tom Barasso, Martin Brodeur, Grant Fuhr, Ed Balfour, and for 2 hockey goalies who not just great but also dirty goons: Billy Smith & Ron Hextall. The guy in the crowd at 3:19 is former great goalie Patrick Roy.
