Joey Styles is a legendary commentator from the original ECW. He did 99% of the shows by himself (so he did color commentary and play by play at the same time), and was known for how he said "OH MY GOD!" when something crazy happened (which was basically every match in ECW lol). But his entry here didn't do that promo justice...you definitely should go back and watch it, he said a lot of things fans were thinking at the time.

5:09 Andre was about 520 lbs. According to Hogan (take that with a grain of salt since he's known to "stretch") it was Andre's idea for Hogan to do that. Hogan wasn't so sure he could. A lot of people weren't sure if Andre could even take a body slam at that stage cause his health was in serious decline by then. 6:25 Joey Styles was the commentator in the original ECW. He was actually an excellent commentator. Did a few of their ppvs solo: I don't think anyone else has done that. To be fair, that whole rant was clearly a "worked shoot" meaning it was meant to look like he was going off script. Still it was really good. 13:50 yes it was a real snake: devenomized. It was only supposed to give him a small "nip" but it latched on and wouldn't let go. Jake even broke the 4th wall grabbing the snake by the tail and tried to pull it off. Fortunately, nothing too serious for Savage. Good thing they devenomized the snake. 14:50 Mae was actually mad at Bubba after the first powerbomb cause she said he slammed her too softly. She insisted on being slammed like "one of the boys".

Sadly, the reason they chose to end the streak was for 2 reasons: 1. The Undertaker himself figured that if anyone would be seen as a big enough threat, it would be Brock Lesnar. Maybe Braun Strawman, but he was way too "green", and if the payoff didn't work, it would have been a waste. Brock Lesnar continues to be a huge roadblock for superstars, and has proven his worth. He was an unstoppable force at the time, and Undertaker was only a few years away from retirement anyway. 2. Undertaker suffered a concussion in the match, which left him unable to do a lot of their planned spots; the sudden streak ending was just their way of wrapping it up so he could get medical attention. It's why he seemed so dazed, and out of it afterwards. It wasn't just him acting defeated, he was seriously hurt,

If the streak had to die (and I feel like they could have stood to let Taker retire undefeated because it was the biggest thing he was known for), they shouldn't have given it to Brock because he didn't need it. There were others who (and even Undertaker himself has said as much) could seriously have benefitted from being given that honor, such as Roman Reigns. A guy like Roman needed that kind of high-profile win far more than Lesnar as Lesnar was already a well-established name, whereas Reigns wasn't at the time.

I feel like it was the right call to end the streak at Wrestlemania 30. I think it propelled Brock into this monster heel that dominated for the remained of the 2010s before Roman Reigns began the Tribal Chief run and I think WWE in the modern day works best when there is that major heel that seems to be unbeatable, whether it's through brute force like Brock, the numbers game like Roman or appearing cowardly but somehow finding ways to keep on winning like Seth Rollins did during his Authority Run. On the other hand though, I feel like the streak should've never been broken and Undertaker should've retired, unbeaten at Wrestlemania, especially with hindsight and seeing how his matches with Bray Wyatt, Shane McMahon, Roman Reigns and John Cena didn't really have any weight to them, I will give the AJ Styles match it's due for being a good sendoff to Undertaker but the streak being broken definitely made Wrestlemania feel just a little less important.

The problem with the streak in my mind was who ended the streak. Streaks have to end, that's kind of the point of them, to see who can end it, in this case I think what upset most, was who did it. The kind of endorsement you could receive by doing so shouldve gone to someone who was being built, someone who could use that kind of momentum to push them to the moon.
@marcpower41678 ай бұрын
It would have been an insane amount of pressure to put on someone. Supposedly they had considered having Orton and Kurt Angle end the streak before but they both refused out of respect for Taker.
@axixasamajda30768 ай бұрын
@@marcpower4167 Which I do understad the pressure that would've gone with it. For me, I would have done AJ Styles Cinematic match first have him lose, build that steam and anger for Taker then the net year have him beat Taker. Yes, Aj is a legit star but they always make it point to talk about his Indie upbringing, the star from the outside. I think the momentum from beating Taker wouldve solidify, just how great he actually is and help people better understand his level even being an outsider. Like they started this with his feud with Cena and Orton, but it never went anywhere afterwards. Don't think others would agree with me but this is just my humble opinion.

Well, I think on night, one Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins team up and lose to The Rock & Roman Reigns and the situation would be if Seth and Cody win then The bloodline is banned from Cody vs. Roman on night two But the bloodline wins on night one and I made two when solo Sikoa and Jimmy Uso try to interfere on behalf of Reigns I see one of two things happening, and my first is that the rock turns on Roman reigns antietam with a rock bottom and the peoples elbow and then Cody Rhodes will hit two or three crossrhodes on reigns and he will pin Roman reigns, one, two, and three and become the undisputed WWE universal champion, but he will get rid of the universal championship and bring back the WWE championship or the rock, Jimmy, Uso, and solo Sikoa all try to interfere on Roman reigns behalf only for Jey uso, Sami Zayn, and I think the surprise return of one Stone Cold Steve Austin or another wrestler that has had issues with the bloodline, and those three will counteract the rest of the bloodline in with all of the distraction. Cody Rhodes will hit somewhere between 2-4 crossrhodes finishing moves and he will pin Roman reigns and become champion and since the tribal chief/head of the table fails at wrestlemania & can’t get job done all of the rest of the bloodline will turn on him, which will either turn all of them into baby faces, or they will stay heel and it will make Roman reigns look like a baby face, or at the very least Tweener
@mrpanamajr8 ай бұрын
I feel that there’s a lot of signs that the rock and Cody are going to trick Roman reigns. I think this Friday on SmackDown they set up the tag team match between the rock Roman against Cody and Seth freaking Rollins and if the rock and Roman loses and Cody gets to fight at wrestlemania with the bloodline are banned from the match, and I believe that this is been a set up between the rock and Cody from the very beginning when the rock came in and whispered into Cody‘s ear

Sadest part of the streak was it should not have gone as long as it did. You had top tier talent that they wanted to push over and the superstar said no. If I remember, I think and f5 actually concussed Taker. He was supposed to win that match and Lesnar winning was a last minute decision. Really edge or Orton should have ended it. Maybe if Punk had that title of ending the streak he wouldn't have left and bad mouthed the company. Was it cool to see something grow to that size, Hell yeah but by the time Lesnar was going at it, bro Undertaker should have just retired before the match. No offense but to old to be playing in the field anymore. We can at least say undertaker was an anomaly for big dudes in the ring, however there were many moments before the big shocker at 21 that could have cemented it in stone, however they didn't.
