I got to the hotel freezing cold. Shame I couldnt' camp out there but it was literally freezing out overnight.

That's a beautiful area. There is an indoor covered Barn/Hot Springs & Campground (tents and cabins) at Summer lake. I've stopped there on many a motorcycle trip, unfortunately a couple of summers ago, they switched to online reservations only, which means planning ahead, which I never seem to have the foresight to do. Great video and capture of Southern Oregon. Looking forward to living vicariously through your travels.

I'm sorry I missed it but like you said, anything requiring advance registrations is out.

What a beautiful but brutal ride. Can't wait for the next video. Have you ever looked into a Puig windshield? A couple inches taller for us tall riders. Cheers

Mine is pretty tall. It's the National Cycle VStream Touring Deluxe and it's at the low setting 99% of the time. I once had a Puig on but returned it after getting it tinted and realizing that wasn't very interesting.

Day one of the trip, off with a bang!

I feel your pain. I rode from fields to Three forks and ate shit doing 45 in that moon dust.

Oh man, that was super dicey!!!! I feel really proud to have kept the bike upright as long as I did. I was doing like 50 MPH for a while and finally thought "I'm going to break my leg if I keep doing this" then I dropped it then walked it a mile but in retrospect, I'm glad I did. Glad you're okay!

It was a ton of fun. I really wish it had not snowed and dropped below freezing that night. then snow closed much of WABDR, too which messed up my plans of doing OR / WA back to back.

Those grapefruit size chonies it takes to ride that alone on a fully loaded 700+ lb GSA must get uncomfortable too after a long day like that. Just sayin

It's slow as hell and you really have no margin for error on any of the terrain. It'd be nice to just float over the rocks but then if you get off your line and into a rut, you could go down really fast.
