Hey Katya! Thanks a lot for this video. I'm planning to do my MS in Finland next year. That's the reason I'm learning a bit Finnish too. Very informative one. Tysm 🙂

In the USA, a university may consist of different colleges each with a different focus. For example, the university may contain a college of medicine, a college of science and mathematics etc. Same occurs in the U.K.; For example, University of Cambridge includes Christ's College, Churchill College, Clare College etc.

What a great and informative video! I was wondering what your perception is (both in Finland and from Edinburgh) about the way different degree types are valued. As someone living in England, there is noticeable (and well-known) prejudice against 'social sciences, liberal arts and humanities' - by which we mean history, geography, modern foreign languages, classics, art, music, philosophy, sociology and psychology, economics, business, etc. It's basically anything except STEM - sciences (only really physics, biology and chemistry), engineering, maths and technology (like computer science). Did you feel this at Edinburgh/do you feel this in Finland? Many thanks for your videos on learning the Finnish language and culture, hoping to emigrate in the future! Minä olen oppinut sinulta paljon suomesta ja suomalaisista! Kiitos!

I think your course was definitely a factor in terms of class times, psychology is definitely seen as a course with very little contact time compared to other courses. On the other end of the spectrum is something like medicine where a 9 to 5 day is standard and you might have nightshifts and stuff in later years. It definitely depends on what you study

Getting admission in Finland Universities is very tough ..compare to uk universities ..and admission processing in Finland is very long ..like it takes around 3-4 months to get entrance result ..Even I have face lots of pain ..but at last I didn't get visa from immigration due to pandemic . Immigration of Finland provide worst service to the international students...I have face the pain of waiting 1 year for visa and even I didn't get visa at last ...they ruin my 1 year time .such a waste of time ..while applying Finland ..But someday I wanna be there .. it's my dream .I am hoping to do my master degree in Finland..🥰

I will ask my son what his experiences are. He decided to start his masters in Karlsruhe (and finish it there). In terms of math I think Germany rates better than Finland, which is why he chose Germany. will let you know if he wants to watch this video, once he gets started. May take a while though (they start in Nov). Thank you for the video. When I get to Finland, I hope to be following Finnish courses at the university. Starting at 8:15 though is not my favorite time.
