After being disqualified, JOOST KLEIN could potentially RETURN to Eurovision in 2025... but why for BELGIUM?! You don’t have to go all the way back to Celine Dion for an example - Cyprus has been represented by Australians the past two years. An even more relevant example is Megara, which represented San Marino last year, but entered for Spain the year before.

dutch person here, translation one minute in is completely accurate! for context: "this side of the country" refers likely to Flanders, the dutch speaking part of the country (as opposed to Wallonia, the french speaking part). i believe they like to change the responsible region every year, so it checks out. edit: "The broadcasters take turns to send the Belgian entry to the contest, and since 2021, Flemish VRT has been in charge on odd years while French-speaking RTBF has been in charge on even years." -- wikipedia

Guys it’s a joke between StuBru and Joost. StuBru isn’t a broadcaster but an alternative radiostation and it has absolutely nothing with Eurovision. They just adore Joost. But Joost isn’t going to represent Belgium as VRT is going to do another national final and the candidates have already been selected. Also this is something my country would never do because it would make a lot of Dutch people pissed. They are just trolling you all

It’s not going to happen. Joost is insanely popular in Flanders and loved by StuBru. This is a joke between them as StuBru was shocked and pissed that Joost was disqualified. I wouldn't mind Joost representing Belgium next year, but don't hold your breath. I would be surprised if Joost would compete in a national final, and in some ways, that would seem unfair on the other artists in the NF. Also, eurovisionfun isn't the most reliable of sources.😬 But we'll see.

Joost isn’t going to return to Eurovision. He’s insanely popular in Flanders and StuBru was shocked about his disqualification. The radio station knows him really well and said that he isn’t the kind of person who would attack a woman. Now they are both trolling and everyone is falling for it. VRT has already selected the candidates for Eurosong and it’s very likely that Joost will be a guest and a judge but he will not take part.

11:44 Someone on Twitter stated that they believe that Joost’s return would be the same as Daði Freyr’s, where he would be likely not to get as good of a result he might’ve gotten the previous year. Because Europapa and Think About Things were held up to such high standards, it’s easy to believe that, like Daði, Joost might not be able to make a song with equal power as Europapa. I should probably also mention that I still believe 10 years was still a loveable song, and I’m sure that whatever Joost may come back with next year would be great too.

I would like Joost to represent Friesland in ESC 2025. The flag is so gorgeus! If this is not possible, we, the Germans, would be delighted if Joost would like to represent Germany, because we have friesian areas in the north too, and the responsible broadcaster for ESC in Germany ist the Northern Germany Broadcasting Agency (NDR). Never, Joost is insanely popular for several years in Flanders. He’s a headliner at our biggest festival, present in every TV show. He’s far more popular in Belgium. His song Europapa is still in our hitchats. Joost is great friends with several DJ’s from StuBru, that’s why he called out to them. BTW Joost will not return to Eurovision. They are just trolling and people are falling for it.

First entry of Eurovision 2025 iceberg? But imagine something funny or petty if Joost will pull up something like what Konstrakta did in PZE: releasing a song that’s basically a part 2 of “Europapa”. Context: In 2024, Konstrakta rejoined the Serbian national final PZE with a song called “Novo, bolje” (translated as “New, better”) but the song, especially the staging, is neither new nor better. Every prominent element of her 2022 staging was basically very similar with the 2024 one. While she didn’t win PZE, fans talked about the satirical messaging of the song. So imagine Joost doing something similar as a dig to the EBU.

Dutch broadcaster need to cough up 500.000 euro, in ditch politics some parties want to reduce budgets for broadcasters. I wouldnt be surpised if this would cause AVROTROS to skip a year. Public semtiment isnt all sold on the EBU will to change. The lawsuit still ongoing isnt helping amd when ending with a fine is a really good reason for AVROTROS to demand apologies from EBU before ever joining again.
