At 6:17, weren't the vectors in the standard basis and the B basis the opposite?

Your notation is the simplest to understand.

in my university i dont attend to the class so i didn't know our professor's notation. when i got the exam sheet my eyes bled. dude uses the weirdest notation ever that i couldnt see in any book.

So by your rationale, if you need a transition matrix to convert coordinates in the B basis to the standard basis, it will essentially be the vector matrix of the basis B?
@vishalkrishna63447 жыл бұрын
Christopher Cochran yes, if and only if we want to end up in standard basis. bcoz the coordinates of a vector relative to standard basis is the vector itself.

for Q1 to go FROM B to S would u not need to invert B to get the conversion matrix. That way given any vector in B we can rewrite it in the standard basis. Bcuz this is just saying to go from S to B.

Usually these questions would have you convert a polynomial set into a set in R^n via coordinate mapping.

Nvm Pb is the change of the basis into a matrix used to find the x vector. You can also find the coordinate vector [x]b by multiplying x by the inverse of Pb btw.

Sir if we take a subspace of dim 2 of R3. Then the change of coordinate matrix is of order 2 then how a vector can be change it's coordinate by multiplication of change of coordinate matrix?
@AdamPanagos3 жыл бұрын
A change of coordinates matrix just changes the axis in a given space. It can never create or remove dimensions. If you're working R3, the change of coordinates matrix is 3x3. If you're working in R8, the change of coordinates matrix is 8x8, etc. Hope that helps, Adam

Half of your screen is covered by the subtitles.even though I can understand ur voice clearly I don't know why u r giving the subtitles..this makes me hard to see the full screen,as I can able to see top part only.remove that and then it will be much good.❤️

Sounds like you need to turn off the closed captioning on the video. This is a setting in YOUR KZbin player. Nothing I control. Hope that helps.
