I can guarantee you that Milei and his "economic miracles" will be featured in economics textbooks for decades to come! I appreciate your efforts making this video but there were many facts and figures that did not match the severity and magnitude of Javier Milei's challenges and amazing achievements during his first 12 months in office. Just to name a few, organised crime and drug cartels have been targeted and statistic show is working. The is an idioloical culture war that Milei has brought to light and that is also changing the way Argentinian interactions in social media has begun to take effect. You did not talk about the effects of young people coming to Javier Milei in great numbers to support his changes. You did not mentioned that President Javier Milei is one of only 4 international world leaders invited to Donald Trump's up coming American Presintial ceremonies on January 20th 2025. You did not mentioned that Javier Milei has showed great support towards revitalising the Argentinian armed forces buy buying 24x F16 fighter planes (a small step towards greater modernisation) and calling for a "clean bill" where corrupted politicians under current investigation by local and federal courts should not remain in office until found not guilty of crimes committed while in office. I could mentioned even more but that will suffice for now... In short, your video is good but it could be better! Cheers from Australia!

Curving an inflation only comparable to the ones of war ravaged countries by means of draconian measures and hiding growing misery in the hopes it will be a temporary sacrifice is one thing. Other is effectively reversing more than a decade of zero development of the underground riches. A thing that possibly can’t be fixed in time. And the consequences of the illegal (and basically nonsensical populism) expropriation of Repsol still linger no matter the 30 year current guarantee. Because it is not enough for the massive investment it requires so it is growing now but far too slowly. And the problem I think is still there. “Visionary populism” is the Aquiles heel and Milei could be just the same in the end. 🤷🏻♂️ Personally I hope I am wrong and Argentina will be that promised power in the end. But it is only that. A hope.

Hi. One aspect you didn´t say in this presentation is, when the current government encouraged to spend the "dollars under the mattress" as we called down here, almost all supermarkets took a U$D/$ ratio 1= 1400. Today, the average ratio dropped to 1 = 1180. This meant, if we locals trust Milei´s decisions, others abroad will maybe too. In other words: to gain foreign investors trust we have to trust first. That was a brilliant move. I wish everybody a blessed 2025. Cheers from NE Patagonia, Argentina.

@walterweigert9840Ай бұрын
@@ciobalina7445 Not that I´m aware of. However, it depends on what you are working in. If you are an independent worker, the more hours you add to your journey the more you get paid. On the other hand, if you are under a legit pay role the average is 8 hours. Cheers and thanks for asking.
@ciobalina7445Ай бұрын
@@walterweigert9840 It just appeared on the news online that he is passing some new legislation on work laws and one of them includes increasing the work day from 8 hours to 12 hours. That sounds insane to me and I wonder how accurate it is. I assume you are Argentinian, right? How is the job situation over there? I read he fired a huge number of state employees and I don't think they were able to find work that easily in the private sector. I thought maybe he is changing the work laws to attract foreign investors. Less rights for workers means some predatory multinationals might be interested in you (if you can offer them some skilled workers, that is). Freelancers are a different topic though. People can do whatever they want there because the state can't really check in my opinion. You just report it the way to want and strike up a verbal agreement with your client.
@walterweigert9840Ай бұрын
@@ciobalina7445 As far I understand, there are coming some changes in work laws. However it won´t be able to do so until he gains some more party seats in Congress, that means representative (or Common for the UK) and Senators (or Chamber of the lords also in the UK). The main goal is to provide workers to join freely their unions and not in a compulsive way as it is in the present. It´s true he fired a lot of state employes, but most of them were "political rewards" from the previous administration. Most of the unions have on their said a healthcare service witch is also compulsive to affiliate. The bottom line is to provide workers in particular and overall population in general as much freedom as posible to make their own decisions. If I may, I´d like to give you a friendly advice: don´t get fooled by some of the many so to speak "journalists" and/or YT streamers who take advantage of Milei´s popularity. This is older than humidity: everyone likes to "ride the winning horse". Sometimes, just to gain subscribers or notoriety, they spread unconfirmable notices; in this case I asume the "12hour journey" is one of them. And yes, I´m from Argentina. I really hope this can clear a bit of your questions. Our President AND HIS TEAM made a unthinkable job to restore either locals as foreigners trust and confidence. What he did with our Macro Economy has no precedents in modern times. Cheers from NE Patagonia, Argentina.

@walterweigert9840 This is a lie that he is unique, he is just very harsh. You guys were heading in depression anyway because nobody wanted to lend you money anymore and he couldn't pay government salaries regardless. He's not unique globally necessarily. I think it's mostly propaganda. During the 2008 crisis, our then president also took austerity measures which lasted for a few years. He fired some people and cut salaries with about 25%. A lot of people also left the country to find a job. He openly told them to leave. Everybody still hates him for it. In time, we improved, but government salaries took at least 8 years to improve. You needed serious investment in your country. In the best case scenario it will take only about 10 years to recover somehow ok.

@manuelurquiza7546Ай бұрын
@ciobalina7445 the point is that poverty dropped from 57% to 36% YoY (not properly mentioned in the video), so yes, it does benefit lower class people. Such a growth in productivity and the inflation cut, allows for companies to expand, invest and hire more people, also international companies coming into the country to do the same thing. This is a virtuous circle of capitalization to drag people out of poverty, theres a lot to be done, but its a good start. Remember we closed 2023 with 250% inflation with the lefties, negative reserves, high poverty and a SOVIET economy, hyper regulated and isolated from the world, even the country risk index dropped from 2500 points to today 500 points, we are very close to 400 which will open international markets again for us, 2025 comes with tailwind my friend, ive been investing in argentinian stocks and performance is the best in the world so far

What productivity? What jobs has Argentina actually offered in the last year over night to help 20% of its population suddenly stop being poor? You have to be dumb to actually believe that 😂. Very good and quite accurate approach to Argentina's histry of the last 125 years but in needs some little adjustments: The immigration estimate is about 6 million people between 1860 and 1930, although they continued (decreasingly) coming from Europe until late sixties; even at that time, the per capita income was still superior to Spain or Italy so there is when lines crossed each other: while Europe went upwards, Argentina did right the opposite. Argentina's highest participation of the global market was about 3%, which is still a lot; it would set it above countries like Italy, France, Canada or South Korea if compared with the present day... crazy, isnt? About inflation in the last month of Fernández administration, it was 25% and speeding up. There are some other little details to corretct but they are not so important. Regards from Argentina

Miles dropped those numbers to 36% in 2024's last quarter amidst a cut from 46% of fiscal pressure to 33% and many other problems such as completely lost trust in our economic system ( 4 hiperinflations in the past 40 years without even being at war and many declaration of defaults in that period too ) , inflation rate through the roof , negative reserves in the central bank, giant debts payments ahead , 200% exchange rate gap between official and market Dollar exchange rate, 15% consolidated buffet deficit, price gouging in literally EVERYTHING (that meant that a lot of public services like electricity, gas, transport , etc and even private prices had to rise to accommodate to market values ), an economy (GDP) that was stalled for more than a decade, and a monstrous amount of regulations that made impossible for the economy to thrive, also a lot of unions that gained a lot of powers through previous laws and regulations set by the 100 past years of governments that tried to win their favor and this unions historically tried to overthrown """"legally""""" every non-far-left government, among many , many other things that'll take me more time to write 😅 , all of that without having a national party ( he gained the election through a coalition of small parties ), without any governor and with a big minority in both congress chambers.

Peronism, rooted in populist promises of worker empowerment and social welfare, has been criticized for perpetuating a cycle of poverty and dependency. Economic instability from heavy government spending and inflation disproportionately impacts the poor, who rely on expanded welfare programs for relief. These programs, while offering short-term benefits, often lack pathways to independence, creating enduring dependency. Peronist governments politicize poverty, using aid to secure a loyal voting base and portraying opposition as threats to the poor. This dynamic undermines institutional and economic reform, trapping vulnerable populations in a cycle of poverty and political manipulation.
