Awesome to see an Outlander conversion. I have a 09 model which i also converted. Have an awning attached too which works great
@lachlangowen95712 жыл бұрын
FYI - planning to screw an Ipad mount into the plastic roof piece at the back, and have a Portable battery stored near to the rear 12v power outlet. I also traced the outline of the car interior so I was able to shape the platform to match the odd curvature inside. Cut a mattress topper to size and used some simple reflective material for the window blinds. I ran a LED light string from one of the 'roof handles' on the passenger side around the whole edge of the roof, using velcro tape to secure it. I purchased an 'awning side tent' which I connect to the extended awning when the car is parked. This gives me an extra 2.5m x 2m room where I can do cooking, working, whatever. I keep the tent piece, chairs and table all stored in a roof box. Also plenty of space for things like boots, hiking gear, backpacks, etc. My build is much simpler than yours without the sliding drawers, I also have an extra wooden panel which I rest on the front armrest. With the front seats pushed forward i get a bed which is 190cm x 135cm. Comfortably fits two. Under the platform, I just use plastic storage boxes. I also have opted to keep the middle seats in my Outlander, so I don't have the same amount of storage space as you guys. Anything I can't fit just gets dumped in the roof box.

Looks good, life is all about doing the best with what you've got. They make car tents. So you can add one that attaches to the back if you choose, swing out awnings, shower systems that mount to the roof. So as long as you have a solid foundation to work with. Your options are there....to get out and enjoy life on your terms. Good for you both

Nicely done! If the drawer becomes harder to slide in the future, a bit of paste wax on the wood will make it even more smooth to slide. They sell them at most major hardware stores for around $12 here in the US.

Hi, firstly, a good video, very informative. Have you noticed that most people who build a camper from out of there car are DOG owners, like me and you. First I had a Newfoundland dog, Sport, then an Irish setter, Red, and finally, a black Labrador, Lockston, the name came from a small community in Newfoundland Canada, where we got the dog. That said, I noticed you have a chocolate Lab, mine a black Lab was very smart but ,the only Lab I have ever heard of, was afraid of water! . you see Dog people are down to earth people ,who love the outdoors. Now getting back to the build , I'm going to sell my 2023 Tacoma and buy an Outback, not sure of the trim yet. That's why I like your build, maybe I could borrow your wife's father for a while? Anyway keep up the good work and keep use informer. I am a senior with a 30 year old mind!!. GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY. ONE QUESTION, WHERE DID YOU PUT THE SPARE TIRE?

You will need privacy screens for when you go to sleep. Dollarama in Canada or Dollar Tree in the USA sell the sunblock screen ....buy what you need and cut it to size. Buy black tape and cover the side facing out. Don't use fabric....very ghetto. The boyfriend is hot 🔥 😍

Mitsubishi, Japan, was a war crimes company. Same goes for BMW. The difference between the two is to reflect and ask for forgiveness. Mitsubishi has no remorse, let alone compensation. Products of such war crimes companies should not be used.
