BTW after Idol, Erik Gronwall was a member of the band H.E.A.T. and the Skid Row. He quit Skid Row after he was was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in 2021 to concentrate on treatment and healing. He is active on KZbin so there is much for you to review for your channel.

Not true! He has recovered from leukaemia after a bone marrow transplant in 2021. He left Skid Row because his health was still fragile and the heavy touring was not appropriate for him.

Erik never said he can't make music or even tour, the problem was amount of touring. Erik needed less touring, which was not an option for Skid Row, that's why he left

This cover are outstanding. Erik and Jona are a dream team. Jona Tee here on the piano, played all the instruments here and did the mix, master and production too. Erik and Jona was bandmates in the band HEAT and also had New Horizon together. House of the rising sun are amazing too, and his cover of Black Sabbath’s Headless cross are also amazing. And it was one of his first covers he made when battling leukemia. He was in Skid Row, but he left last year to take care of his health. 😀🇸🇪

Adam, welcome to the Erik's world ❤️ Hope you enjoy your stay 🥰 Take a breath, this will be a loooooooooooong post 😂 Erik is a Swedish artist & singer, born on December 3rd 1987, in Uppsala, Sweden and he resides in the near-by town Knivsta with his wife Ninni, his son, his dog Dexter & his cat Yoshi. He started his first metal band Raid with his high school buddy Philip Naslund (who's Swedish producer & musician, most recently touring guitarist for Bruce Dickinson). He first auditioned for Swedish Idol in 2007, but didn't make it through the second round of auditions then. He participated again in 2009 & that year he won. He auditioned with Skid Row's 18 & Life (it'll be relevant later 🤭) and won with Higher (which rock version you can find on his channel). He released two solo albums after. In 2010 he joined Swedish rock band H.e.a.t where he replaced original singer Kenny (who later replaced him, hihi) and performed on Adress the Nation (2012), Tearing Down The Walls (2014), Into the Great Unknown (2017) and H.e.a.t II (2020). Worth mentioning is that in 2018 he played Simon Zealotes in NBC production of Jesus Christ Superstar. In 2020 he left the band to focus on other stuff. He joined his best friend & former bandmate Jona Tee (the guy in the video playing piano - who's a keyboardist in H.e.a.t, also producer & mixing/mastering magician and who handles all the mixing, mastering, producing & playing instrument in almost every Erik's video) in his power metal project New Horizon. But in 2021, he was diagnosed with leukemia which certainly was life-changing experience for him. During the treatments he started his KZbin channel because he promised to himself if he gets out of the hospital alive he'll sing for the rest of his life. On August 12th 2021, he was, as he says, reborn, because that day he recieved bone marrow transplant and a new chance in life. New Horizon released a debut album Gate of Gods in 2022 and the same year, only couple of months after his treatment, he joined Skid Row (his favorite band of all time) as their new singer. He released an album with them The Gang's All Here and played a lot of shows with them. All the while he kept releasing covers with many awesome badass musicians. In 2023, he released Eriksplanations Vol. 1 vinyl with some of his covers released until then and kept touring with Skid Row. Now we come onto 2024 - his busy schedule made him unable to record new New Horizon's album, so Jona teamed up with Nils Molin (vocalist of Dynazty and Amaranthe) to bring it to life and Erik left the band. He also left Skid Row in March because he wasn't able to balance his full recovery and being in Skid Row. There's his sentence that stuck with me - "Always remember that no job, no money, no fame is worth your health and well-being. Health first. Always." He has released his autobiography on Swedish called Power in September last year & English version is out now. He also released an audio book version on his autobiography on English. I truly recommend to listen/read it. It's truly a treasure ❤ In September of the last year also came out live album he did during his time in Skid Row, called Live In London, recorded in 2022. He sang on a song Mother Mary, on an album My Years With UFO, released by Michael Schenker (who's a German guitarist, mostly known for his work with UFO, Michael Schenker Group & Scorpions). He has recorded couple of songs for upcoming Michael Schenker new album and he'll sing this year on MS' My Years With UFO - 50th Anniversary Celebration tour, at least the European part of the tour & some summer festivals. I whole-heartedly recommend checking out H.e.a.t, New Horizon & Erik's album with Skid Row ❤️ New Horizon - Stronger Than Steel, We Unite, Event Horizon Skid Row - The Gang's All Here, Tear It Down, Time Bomb, Resurrected - also Slave to the Grind (Live In London) & Youth Gone Wild (Live In London) H.e.a.t - Living on The Run, In & Out Of Trouble, A Shot At Redemption, Tearing Down The Walls, Point Of No Return, Redefined, Eye of the Storm, Rise, Come Clean, One By One (these songs are from Erik's era in the band) Speaking of his YT covers, his first was Headless Cross (Black Sabbath). I also have to recommend Dan Vasc if you love rock vocals. Both these guys are epic. They have different tones and different strengths and have collabed in the past. Dan's O Holy Night is completely different and will knock you out. His Amazing Grace is hands down the best version of that song I've ever heard and his cover of My Heart Will go On from Titanic is badass. Please check out Dan!! Erik is my other favorite and you should check out House of the Rising Sun and I Will Always Love You.

In my opinion, Erik is the You Tube find of 2024. All his songs to date have been amazing. His version of 'I will always love you' - in the original key no less - is amazing and was my introduction due his unbelievable talent and voice. You should listen to Erik Grönwall sing Dolly Parton's I Will Always Love You, it's the best cover I heard since Whitney Huston did her cover in the movie Bodyguard. You should even look/listen to him sing Mariah Carey's Without You, John Farnham's You're the voice, Eric Carmen's (Celine Dion) All by myself, The Animals House of the rising sun and Pentatonix Mary Did You Know, they are also truly amazing! In 2009, Erik won Swedish Idol and performed the specially written song Higher in the final. On March 23, 2022, it was announced by Eddie Trunk that Grönwall is replacing ZP Theart as the lead singer of Skid Row. In March 2024, Erik announced that he was leaving Skid Row for health reasons after being diagnosed with leukemia. His first single, "Higher", reached gold on digital downloads after only three days. His debut album, self-titled Erik Grönwall, was released just ten days after the finals and debuted at number one on the Swedish albums chart and was certified platinum. Both as a solo artist and band member, Grönwall has numerous top 40 hits.😂
