What also makes it work so well, is the piano. His way of playing goes perfectly with their voices and the moods.

What a beautiful mash up and with the message behind it. Jacob reminds me a lot of Sting, voice wise. Aurora has made a feature of her sung scream of late. She did one with her band last Friday, in Manchester, that blew me away. Also that sung scream in "Soul with no King", especially in the Vevo version. It is her cry for our planet.

This scream is so organic. I can't no cry in this moment. This duet, connecting their souls and voices is amazing✨💙💙. Thank You🤍🌎

This performance (in Svalbard in the Arctic Circle) was really incredible, and this was an introduction to Jacob Collier for me as well. I did a little research and found out that, among other things, both of them have collaborated with Hans Zimmer. Also, both of them are considered musical prodigies. Jacob apparently learned to play the violin at the age of 2, and Aurora's story is already familiar to her many fans. Fascinating / I hope they collaborate again.

Jacob GAVE UP the violin around age 2 because he didn't like it. But he's been re-learning it recently. Not sure why since he plays about 20 other instruments from well to with virtuosity, especially keyboards, bass, guitar and drums. But you can start with Little Blue Mahogany Sessions, Moon River and All Night Long, World O World, Bridge Over Troubled Waters to start top see the range.

Awesome reaction Adam🥰 I love this performance so much, my favourite collaboration😍😍 The scream in the end hits hard each time🥺💙🐋💚 I don’t know much about Jacob Collier, but I know he is an English singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer and educator.👍 I’m sure someone else will fill you in😉 This was performed in the sea of Svalbard, Norway. It has been an unusual warm summer on Svalbard this year, but it was cold enough. Aurora got a cold. Her mittens are quite common in Norway😍

Jacob has a pretty deep voice when speaking as well if you watch interviews, I saw a long one recently on the channel Colin and Samir. I didn't know much about him either, I only saw a Wired video where he answered music questions from twitter. But it turns out he has released 4 albums and won a Grammy for everyone of them, and 2 Grammys for other arrangements, so 6 Grammys in total which is incredible. Apparently some people call him the Mozart of Gen Z. Aurora was also doing this because the Norwegian prime minister is about to approve deep sea mining, I guess in Norwegian waters, and it is bad for the health of the oceans. She explains it in a 1 minute video in Norwegian with English subtitles, search for: Greenpeace Norge Aurora

Because of her natural beauty, Aurora fits into any dress and any environment. (Of course she does, she is Scandinavian/little Viking)❤. The two voices fit well together and create an interesting harmony. Still, it must not have been easy to hold your tones in the cold, after all, you breathe in cold air and then force it back through your vocal cords. What also excites me again is that Aurora jumps a note in the last "Scream"(7:04), which (I think) gives the "call" even more emphasis.😊 And then the making off. The best part...everyone is smiling. Look at it and smile too 😉 kzbin.info/www/bejne/eGjVpGSBmseGqqcsi=dufKZRUMvTXYICF_

I first saw Jacob about a year ago live at the Kennedy Center at easily the best concert I've ever attended in 5 decades. That renewed my interest in modern performers, whether they do new music or their own, in part because he's collaborated with many of them. These are all also worth checking out: Snarky Puppy, Tori Kelly, Mahalia, Dirty Loops, Dodie, Daniel Cesar, Chris Martin, Chris Thile, Lawrence, Becca Stevens, Lizzy McAlpine, Brenda Carlile, Madison Cunningham, Kimbra. Laughey.

Yes! I lost interest in popular music with the advent of Disco. AURORA and Jacob re-awakened my interest, and all the other artists you mentioned are also super talented. BTW, I believe the ‘rock somewhere’ is the planet Earth.

@@dlbwoodbury It definitely is in this version of the song which I feel was re-purposed. to be the 3rd rock from the sun. In the original version I think the meaning is different because of the different lyrics.

I'm new to Jacob Collier as well. As his name has popped up multiple times in YT recommendations, I thought that I must be the only one not familiar with his music. Thanks to this collab, now I know more and love it! I did watch JC's video on his channel after this one. He is another music genius besides Aurora, so it seems. Aurora and The Seed were lovely as one can expect and more! A powerful video in a stunning environment (although at times I have been worried about the safety in making of Aurora's videos, starting from I Went Too Far). Next, your analysis was interesting to hear, and to watch your reactions during the song! BTW you make the clearest narrations, a pleasure for the ear. And, Aurora seems to introduce me to new musicians, too! Thank you so much, please keep them coming!

I'm not even going to list all the technical or music theory reasons Jacob is a unprecedented musical multi-genre, multi-instrumentalist genius in modern times and compared to Mozart so I'll just post this original version of this song to show just SOME of the depth of his range far beyond jazz. But you can start with Little Blue Mahogany Sessions, Moon River and All Night Long, World O World, Bridge Over Troubled Waters to understand why he's already won 6 Grammys and Quincy Jones says he's the most talented he's ever seen. As for his singing, aside from his back-throat timbre, his range is huge and so precise that he can in microtones. That's why so many vocal coaches and other musicians admire him. kzbin.info/www/bejne/f5Kvop6bgN1rZ5Y

@@AdamStraughanI like how you analyze the voices of the artists so accurately, it is also true that Sigrid is not exactly the most listened to and analyzed artist, I think she is very undervalued and only one other person (@ModernLifeForThe70sMind) makes an objective analysis or reaction about her Well, I won't bore you any more, and thanks again for responding Adam, greetings And blessings
