I wish that I could mount the real Ford starter on the left on my 04 Subaru Forester, and get rid of that wimpy sounding PMGR Subaru starter, but it would be a lot of work. I installed the biggest group size 24 F battery that would fit with all custom made 2 gauge battery cables, so it cranks over much faster and sounds less wimpy. I wanted to put in a 1,000 CA battery like in my 1990 Ford Econoline van, but it would not fit. Looks like there's a place on the passenger side where I can mount a 1,000 CA battery and now that I can make my own battery cables I will use 4/0 ought battery cables for everything even my lawnmowers. So maybe I can get it to crank over even faster and sound a little less wimpy.

I would like to see a follow up on the sandblaster with all the upgrades you made to it. Hi. Thanks for the comment. Since I made the original video the only thing I did was replace the valve with the hole in the side. Some time after that video I used it again and had my much larger air compressor up and running and that in itself made a huge difference. Still clogged a few times but nothing like before. Also I found out the final valve " the one that blew a hole in the side" should either be full open or full closed. All the adjustments should be done before that valve. So yes for the price I would recommend it, just takes a little getting used to.

I am currently installing this very started on my 95 gt. Your video was helpful but there is no solenoid on the fender like yours. So where does the suppled red wire go. Not sure can’t find a video to see

I know starting in 1992 they stopped using the fender mounted solenoid. I don't think you have to use the included trigger wire. Your year should work without it.

What if you have a 94-95 gt it’s the same starter but no solenoid on fender where does the red wire go to? Any idea?

Hi. Yeah basically you have the original starter wire that goes down to your starter , then your adding one more wire, what I would call the trigger wire. Good luck with your project 👍

I actually built platforms out of 2x4's that got me an extra 5 inches and then the jack stand are like another 14 inches. So roughly 19 inches.

Hi. I'm not exactly sure now that it is installed. But I can say. I have equal length headers and had no clearance issues. It's considerably smaller than the stock starter. Atleast on the 1984 mustang 5.0. I think 1992? They started using the mini starter oem.

Why couldn’t we just leave all the wiring the same and hook the original (black) wire to where you hooked the included (red) and then run the new wire they include straight to the positive? Then the only thing you’ll have to drill bigger is the I connector they include and you’d be able to that under the hood rather than lying on the ground

I think guys have done it that way with success. The method I used is the preferred method from the manufacturer so I went with it. But good point. 👍
