I believe it is transfer seat capable, but you can contact BraunAbility at 1-800-488-0359 for more specific information.

As a BraunAbilty MSE master tech the total cost for Explorer and conversion can go from 50k to as much as 80k depending on factory options and mobility options but modifications can range depending on the individual needs and the quality of the equipment. As an 8 yrs experienced tech I HIGHLY recommend quality equipment. Hand controls, Sure Grip offers a highly dependable hand control. Both mechanical and electronic throttle (if quality installed) fit really nice in the MXV. I do not recommend MPD 3500 unless a different mounting bracket is designed. Sure Grip designer Keith Howell is the very last disabled owner of a mobility company since Ralph Braun's passed away years back. B&D independence transfer seat is the top choice in seating options.

I just would like to know one thing. How would a person in a wheelchair be able to afford a suv like this? The seat alone cost over $9,000.. Are there banks willing to help someone in a wheelchair to get one of these? If not, this product as cool as it is.. Isn't going to sell well at all. If at all.

How do you keep your wheelchair from floating around the vehicle or being a hazard if you stop fast or are in a crash?
@lindalee35426 жыл бұрын
There are anchors you can anchor the chair down with. These are movable, depending on where you place the chair in the van.

car manufacturers need to just start building cars for disabled people as well so their "normal" cars arent destroyed and only the wheelchair user can be in the car. what if they have people who want to come with them? are they suppose to sit in the rear seat of the car?

I have been in a wheelchair coming up on 51 yrs due to Vietnam war. When I first started using a wheelchair in 1969 all the major car manufactures offered cars that you could get a wheelchair in behind the front seat with ease. Then all the bigger cars disappeared and everything became four door. This SUV takes to much time to use. With the amount of parking pigs who think their handicap because their hip hurts or they have eaten themselves into world class lard asses with handicap parking placards. You would never have the room to park and use this SUV. I am 76 yrs young and drive a 2005 chevy monte carlo. I can get in or out of my car and into my wheelchair before your automatic door would completely open. This SUV also has to many electric moving parts. A lot to go wrong over time leaving you stranded or trapped inside. Just my two cents from a half century pushing a wheelchair.

A price to pay for moving with ease for the pwd.

I agree with George. I drive a Rivera and just put my chair behind the seat. Quit making these cars in '98 so it's hard to find one without a million miles on it. If they'd just make a 2 door Explorer it would avoid the $40 grand conversion package.
@pcressma5 жыл бұрын
The build and assembly quality seems rather amateurish...if you are going to try and sell a product like this...maybe focus on not having such a clumsy looking control for the transfer seat, and use something to lubricate the ramp. It all sounds and looks like it was cobbled together out of whatever parts you found laying around.
@MikeMilliorn7 жыл бұрын
You should use some of that new invention called "grease" on that squeaky rail. Why would you show me a squeaky video? Pretty sure I wouldn't buy one now.
