Just completed doing this on the HP 4110 webcam as in your video. Getting the chrome eyepiece on the cam took a little grinding , but I am looking forward to try this out. Thanks for the tip!

Nice video. The black pot is a great idea to be used as a dew shield too. Thank you!

Excellent. Liked the flower pot idea. I would add a ring inside the nose piece to be sure the cam is properly seated. I'll be looking at the specs of the webcam to see how good it is in low light - may be able to image M42, M80, and other nebula - star clusters at least using a focal reducer. After processing the video, the stacked image is not much different from lower resolution videos I have made - interesting.

There is another video where the guy takes apart the whole camera, removes the lens and the IR filter (meaning it has one already? and you are putting another on top?). My question is, does it make sense to take it apart as he does and remove a lot of stuff from the cam (he says it will perform better) and can you please share what software you use to capture the images to stack them later on? what software you used to stack them together? Thanks!

what is the purpose of the IR filter?
@mansamusa17438 жыл бұрын
It blocks Infrared light which increases The quality of visible color images,however it makes it impossible to image in the infrared
