The Pacific region, home to over two million people across numerous island nations, faces a critical challenge: climate change - which is making communities and infrastructure more vulnerable. So how do you build essential public infrastructure - like roads, bridges and ports - knowing they'll face recurring natural disasters like cyclones and floods, exacerbated by climate change? Adapting isn't just about survival; it's about thriving despite these challenges. The World Bank's Pacific Climate Resilient Transport Program is working with Pacific countries to help make communities, and their most vital infrastructure, more resilient to extreme weather events and climate change.
