I appreciate your videos. I have been living in San Jose for about seven years. If you live in San Jose area, you do not have to wait in long lines for “hours”. I bank at Banco Cathay and have never waited more then 1-2 minutes for a teller. Over the years, the Bank has provided me excellent service. Many of my gringo friends bank here. The downside is that if you live outside the San Jose area, there are not as many branches as the bigger Costa Rican banks.

well said Allen...i just got back to jersey after a few weeks in c.r...and yes had days pissed off to no end trying to get things rolling and done to no avail...there is no urgency among tico's to get things done promptly, properly or respectfully...and this is after going to c.r. 21 times now but now going to live there and still tons of things to learn and deal with....STAY FOCUSED

When I moved to Canada from Costa Rica as a little kid, I can definitely tell you that my family and I experience culture shock living here. I can only imagine how much much difficult for older people will be affected if you move to my old county. This videos are great information and expectations to be ready for the moved to CR. Thank you Mr. Allen for your help and good job on all this videos. 👍

Thanks for sharing your story. YES, you definitely need to be prepared! Going to any country can be challenging, but Costa Rica is so very different, that the challenges are worse than most places. I hope we can help you get prepared when you do go back home

We have moved in Costa Rica a couple years ago and are in the process of building a house on our property. Yes it is different but heck it beats the shitty life in North America every day of the week. If you want a dull life watching TV, don't come here.
