these drives are not meant to be solid state drives for most people. These are the drives you buy when you just need any working hard drive and these are better than a standard mechanical on a crappy old pc. These have their place, $25 for a working solid state drive is a great price.

Agree, for example, I use drives like these in random projects and also my FreeNas builds. They're way more reliable than USB boot drives and they cost essentially the same.

I did a RMA for the SU650 3 times because all 3 times it was hitting temps on idle at 60c and on load was 90c which is bad for performance and i thought at first it was just the cooling in my system that was not enough until i bought a different brand SSD then put the SU650 in an enclosure without the cover and was still getting that hot and happened all 3 times which i just gave up on doing another RMA and now i use it as a drink coaster because of the over heating on the drive and really the performance drops down by so much when it is over heating like that which the only way i would try to use it again if i was to take it out of its shell put on a heatsink on the chips and install inside my own custom case 2 40mm fans.

Hello, how are you? I'm thinking about buying one of these, could you tell me if after 4 years of use this SSD is still working normally? Did you have any problems with it while using it?
@ExplainYouaThing10 ай бұрын
Hi, yup this one is still working as a cache drive in my UnRaid setup. Though some people have stated that your mileage may vary on quality. Some people have not been as lucky with the reliability of this drive.

Hi, I'm new to all these concepts, I decided to buy this ssd on amazon 240gb one and iam planing to use my 1th hard disk for storage and his ssd as primary, so tell me will be good for gaming and normal use and if yes for how long will it run if no what is the alternative you will suggest in this range or a bit higher but not expensive one, I have a dell inspiron 15 3000 i5 7th gen model with Amd radeon graphics

Adata su650 sucks. I'm owning one of these SSD. Overheating issue, write speed too low (TLC flash memory), even lower compared to a hard disk drive. That's being said, it still performs better than a spinning hdd overall. Read speed is awesome.
@JC-XL Жыл бұрын
Do you have the 120Gb version? I have the Adata SU650 120Gb SSD and the writing speed is atrocious - it starts fast and after 2-3 Gb copied (written) drops right down to 12 Mb/sec !!! Either there is a quality control issues and they've missed to put a radiator or the low capacity versions are much slower.

If you copy large file than after 5gb its speed goes below than normal mechanical hard drive this ssd is totally shit

I own this ssd. My HDD boots windows faster somehow. Is this an issue with my model or does the ssd actually work like this? I saw another comment saying that it writes slower than hard drives.
@ExplainYouaThing3 жыл бұрын
There's some variance to individual drives and it highly depends. Since booting is predominately based on reading data from the disk, it's possible that these things aren't mutually exclusive. That being said, I would probably assume that nearly any modern ssd failing to out perform a spinning disk would have to be in some way defective.
@nilsfrahm13232 жыл бұрын
Cheap ssds have low size SLC cache and low speed writing to native area, e.g. 70MB/sec. This means once you write more than 30GB, it will slow down from 300MB/sec to 70MB/sec. Cache size is bigger when ssd capacity is bigger. SU750 1TB has cache of 300GB, as an example. This means you should try get size of 500G or 1TB, as that runs faster for much longer.
