most stuff on temu is a scam in some way or another. even if it doesn't look like a scam, chances are temu has something behind the scenes to make it one (they already have had multiple allegations of draining people's bank accounts, and the company behind temu has a history of exploiting people's devices to install malware) tl;dr: Temu is incredibly shady.

I understand that you need to take the sponsors you can, but please remember Temu is the exact same thing as Shien, Aliexpress, Wish and so on.. You get what you pay for and there is NO rules and regulations on the items you buy, this means there can be significant health risk associated with some items.. Also these items are usually environmentally damaging. Both in production but also in the shipping method. Also NEVER purchase ANYTHING that has to be in contact with your skin like clothes, makeup or jewelry - NEVER buy anything food related as you do not know what is in the products - and just like wish NEVER buy toys or any other items for toddlers, the plastics can be incredibly toxic, so never ever buy anything for a toddler or small child. And be aware that some designs might be AI-generated and others are ripped of from artists without consent. So PLEASE think twice before you buy from TEMU and other sites like it. If its too good to be true, it usually is. No shade to you, or any other KZbinr taking this sponsorship, i just think people don't really do their research before shopping online, and way to many have been using sites like Temu without understanding what it is and the risks associated with it. Here where i live the government had to seriously WARN people against TEMU just like they did with WISH, because people don't think before they buy.
@ZombieMinion19923 ай бұрын
I feel like a little shade is needed. Having literally no integrity when it comes to sponsorships can be a problem. He is indorsing TEMU. Even if he is being paid for it he is actively shilling their products and brand. In the end that is his choice, I hope the money was good and worth it. People like and trust him and his product reviews, if he is being paid to hype up TEMU he has reason not to speak ill of his new sponsor. It would be like someone knowingly taking sponsorships from any other sweat shop production company. You have to research who you get into bed with business wise.
@skepticalpanda88623 ай бұрын
Most of the things you own were not made ethically and likely have health risks. At least this allows broke artists a chance at affordable and often decent art supplies. The pushback against these companies always feels so hypocritical. I am BEGGING some of you to look into how ANYTHING you own is produced.
@skepticalpanda88623 ай бұрын
Not to mention you eat and drink food produced with slave or close to slave labor and if not immense cruelty in the form of factory farming. Stop hating people for playing the game and critisize the game itself. CAPITALISM is the problem not purchasing and taking sponsorships from foreign companies that will ACTUALLY face criticism for doing exactly what most western companies do.

A bit of info about watercolors: Generally speaking, good watercolors should be mostly transparent except for the white, while gouache is like watercolor but opaque. Cheap watercolors can be chalky and opaque. Friendly reminder, watch your data like a hawk using your sponsor, and maybe check out the news regarding them. Fun video!
@edgechan3 ай бұрын
This so much. I always scream when artist use cheap watercolors and call them "good watercolors" when you notice the chalky effect. A good watercolor should leave a smooth layer, not a chalky one.

I did want to mention one more thing which is related to watercolor. The most important thing about watercolor is the paper. If you decide to do a video where you learn more about watercolor, I would highly recommend Scott Christian Sava and Kristy Rice who you might know from the Create this Book collab. I would especially recommend Scott Sava because he has a comic book style art and the way he translates that through watercolor is pretty awesome. He also works with Alcohol markers and gouache from time to time as well. Edited to add this: I also think you would like his philosophy on art. So you should definitely go through his back log of shorts. He’s very encouraging and helped me to start being to do art far more often.

I’d love it if you did a bit of research on watercolour and brush basics. I think you’d really enjoy the magic of watercolours! The wells in the lid of the watercolour box aren’t for adding water to rinse your brush in, they are for mixing colours in. Rarely would you take paint straight from the pan and onto the page. The wide paint brush is a fan brush, used for certain effects. If you use a separate palette to mix in, the well will be big enough to use with that brush. Watercolour works best when you add darker colours onto lighter ones, as the paint dries the colour fade and the light over dark will become less effective. It is a translucent media in general. Work from light to dark. One more very important note…I’m pretty sure that colouring book isn’t meant for wet media. Use watercolour paper and the results will surprise you ❤

For the coloring books you could take a picture of it and color digitally to see if you like any colors. I feel like the Japanese one would be cool to play around with choosing only some elements to color. I know it’s not always fun to plan colors, but it might be a fun way to discover a new color palette that you like or to look up the color palettes of Japanese paintings or even just the fashion. I sometimes like to use coloring books as inspiration for composition as well. It would be cool to see you translate that into your own drawing.

The glass is fiiine! Especially if you like pink pineapples. It looks like a pink pineapple. I have to admit though, that Spiderman looked more like Morph. With big white eyes. I got the Japanese colouring book too. There's no adult-themed pictures at all in it, you'll be happy to know. I got a couple of their other ones too, an Anime (based towards Teens, but who cares about age? At least it's not for little kids, even though they can be fun, sometimes) and one called "Psychedelic Forest". Now, watercolour paint on your shirt. Do you think you might need to keep that little apron to hand for when you're wearing a pale shirt? It'd make use of it and it doesn't really matter that it won't tie because you'll be sitting down anyway.

All dogs go to heaven is one of my favorite ones too and often underrated. I'd love to see you colour it as well (with watercolour?). When Arcane starts up again and you make art again about that, how about you combine the watercolours and Gouache? Those can go really well together! (Be sure to use the watercolour as a base and the gouache on top since gouache gets reactivated by water.) I really enjoy seeing you grow and expand your knowledge of technieques and materials. That said, do expand the knowledge of what you are promoting as well. Temu is, like mentioned in comments below, not exactly the most respectable company. The lack of rules, as it is a Chineze brand, compared to European companies is quite unnerving. And, well, you did say you had a thing for sniffing and biting things... Don't want you to get anything from the items you buy from a company that lacks health regulation that are up to standart of our European ones. Not to mention the unfair pay and treatment of those who work for Temu. Please be mindfull of that, okay? What days did you do your lifestreams again? Looking forward to your next video! 😸

Hullo Anthony, Watercolor DOES COME OUT of clothes! There are some pigments that stain, yet I seriously doubt that these paints are of that caliber. Hey I could be wrong, but if your afraid of staining be sure to wash the offending dots or smudges of paint before putting it into the washer! Use a plain ol' stain remover and do not put it into the dryer as that will set the color into your garment. You can get some watercolor to be permanent, it is quite difficult and no easy task! I would love to see you create a watercolor painting? Maybe go for a bigger artwork and do a multi-part video series? You might even try the TEMU watercolor sheets!

The crazy thing about shopping on temu is when you cross reference products on Amazon you will find the exact same items but the prices are vastly different. Does that mean amazon has been jacking up prices for years and we just assume they are legit and good? 🤔 I have had more negative experiences with amazon since they've become a drop ship portal. If you see something go on flash sale at a huge markdown (especially paint supplies) assume they'll be dried out or broken. Temu has been AMAZING though! Honestly my new fav site simply because of the variety of items and quality service. 😊 i just don't know what to think about massive online shopping sites anymore. They're necessary since physical stores don't want to keep a running inventory, but you always wonder if a bargain is a good thing. Strange world we live in.

Nice video! However, I don't think those are watercolour to be honest... Watercolours should be translucide. It should not be possible to add this peachy tone the way you did. They actually looked like gouache. By the way, if you have some white in a watercolour palette, it is always composed of gouache or acrylique. White watercolour doesn't exist. It does not mean that you cannot use it, but it's good to be aware of it! 😉
