I did, and I filled the tank and the light never went out, and the immobilizer warning kept telling me it was going to prevent me from re-starting it once I turned it off, and it got down to 300 miles, so I drove the 100 miles to the VW dealership and had it fixed. After playing with it for 3 days, they said they found a clump of crystals of the urea plugging ther input of the pump. That might be true, but the sensors in the tank SHOULD have told the computer that there was DEF in the tank and shut off the warning, shouldn't it have?? I did read in the owner's guide that you are supposed to wait after filling the DEF tank, turning the ignition on, but not starting the engine, for a few minutes, but I didn't! So I thought that I might have caused the whole thing by not doing things as the manual said to. I have an OBD-ELEVEN scanner, but it wouldn't clear that warning either, and the VW tech couldn't get it to turn off either, so after repeated calls to VW corporate, they finally came up with a secret solution. I have never seen so many tight lipped mechanics as VW has! They won't tell you anything. It's a big secret to keep you coming to them for service. I LOVE the car (a 2015 VW Golf TDI SEL). but there is so very little I can do myself! They even moved the oil filter back onto the bottom of the engine, and you have to remove the skid plate to get at it, and they still use a cartridge filter instead of a canned one! (More mess!).

Damn man... sorry to hear that you had such an issue. Hopefully it was covered under the "extended diesel gate" warranty. It sounds like the clog was preventing the level to be read properly? VW just like almost all dealers in in business to keep you coming back to them. Rebel and do as much as you can at home, fight the good fight! LOL though I know there are times when you are forced to go in to a dealer

With the VW lawsuit and court order you can just take your car to a VW dealer and they refill it for free.

I didn't know that, I'll have to keep it in mind next time I need some.

SDSBBQ thanks for the info... debating if I should get a Passat TDI or Jetta. Just found out about this AdBlue stuff... might go with Jetta now ha

@@Pennystockid It really isn't that bad, I might add 2.5 gallons every 10k miles it's less than $10. I'd go with the Passat TDI. I've had both the Jetta and the Passat.

SDSBBQ Ok, good to know. I actually had Jetta TDI and the Jetta Hybrid I just sold and was thinking of upgrading to Passat TDI... they seem cheaper for some reason too🤷🏼♂️ Hmmm... you might have me wanting Passat again now in seconds lol

I learned that you aren't very good at putting someone down in English. I'd be willing to bet that English isn't your first language so I won't hold that against you.
