This is awesome!! I used my stimmy to buy Retro Fighters for N64, Dreamcast, and Sega Gen/Saturn. The latter has an analog control. I can use that for Atari naturally. I also got a new Turbografx pad, as well as the 3d printed 5200 Controller. They all make life easier, and maximizes fun!

You are all set to go! Congrats on the 5200 controller especially :)

I didn’t think there was anyone else who loves collecting controllers and controller adapters as much as I do, I have a pretty sizable collection myself so I was always looking for videos for anything different that I wasn’t aware of and there’s not much on KZbin, or the internet unless you stumble upon some random, less trafficked websites, so I’m glad I found your channel because even with how much I already have, I now have a lot of controllers and adapter I can hunt down, iv been working my way through your videos and it’s awesome so far, just curious tho if you would ever do a overview of all the different controllers and adapters you have in your collection, or maybe a video for each console and everything you own, I’d love to see what else you have, but keep it up because there’s nothing like your channel and I prefer smaller channels to the huge channels that dominate KZbin, it’s crazy how much more I can add to my collection, thanks for the hard work

Appreciate that very much! Yeah, it's a real niche KZbin channel- on the wild frontier of discovery... but it's actually been so fun running the experiments and seeing things happen I could only dream of 4 or 5 years ago, that I see it becoming increasingly intriguing to the average gamer over the next decade. I do have plans to eventually show more of my gaming collection- but really won't get far away from the main purpose of the channel. I'll just keep having fun :)

@@wiredupretro of course, the area you focus on with controllers, adapters, and controller addons are what I find the most interesting, it’s so easy to find information and pictures/video of a consoles games and hardware but the controllers and other peripherals are much harder to find, I can’t imagine all the controllers you own have been in a video so it would be cool to see them all, this was something I kind of just stumbled into while searching for different controllers and got hooked when I realized all the different ways you can play a game or use a controller with different consoles from different companies

I'm really interested in that wrist Rumbler. I've got a lot of questions about it. How does it work? Does it still recognize the NeGcon as an NeGcon controller. Or does it think it's a duelschock controller now? If it still sees it as a NeGcon how would the ruble work if the console thinks a non rumble controller is plugged in?
@wiredupretro3 жыл бұрын
When the Wrist Rumbler is plugged in the NeGcon signals are passed through to the PS1 without any alteration. Sony added vibration to controllers by taking one of the unused pins of the controller plug and putting an additional signal thru it so it becomes an active pin dedicated to vibration feedback and the wrist rumbler takes advantage of that.
@superjetze3 жыл бұрын
@@wiredupretro Interesting. That means the game software is not looking for a duelshock for the ability to use rumble but only if there is a signal going through that pin. So theoretically you would be able to add rumble to any ps1 controller by modifying it to use that pin. (And adding rumble motors of course)
@wiredupretro3 жыл бұрын
@@superjetze Yeah I believe that's true.

@@wiredupretro Is that really how it works? I've asked some very hostile people in the PS1 community and they said your explanation was not possible and "There is no rumble pin". It's also really difficult to find any information about this accessory. Could you maybe upload a short unlisted video showing how the Wrist Rumbler works? Like with the game menu showing the negcon options and then the rumble working? That would give me more confidence to go buy one because they are not easy to find and are kind of expensive. But If they act like how you describe it I would want one.

@@superjetze Here's a link that has the pinout diagram for the Playstation 1 controller accessible: pinouts.ru/Game/playstation_9_pinout.shtml It shows that pin 3 of the controller plug is for powering the vibration motors of a Dual Shock controller. I know by experience if that pin is disabled you won't get any rumble in the controller. Now there may be other pins involved in the vibration function, but I can't say I know much about that. Now as for giving you solid proof that a PS1 racing controller such as the NeGcon works properly when plugged into a wrist rumbler, I'll just point you to this little Madcatz Wrist Rumbler review I typed up on Usenet in 1999: groups.google.com/g/alt.games.video.sony-playstation/c/WJBEyhLHD6g/m/MpNuOCurawEJ

Thanks for the video. Very interesting. Has anybody an idea if it is possible to use Negcon with the PS5? I haven't found a way yet...

So far I know of no way to play PS5 racing games with any kind of controller adapter (or daisychained adapters) for alternate system controllers. The system is seriously locked down when it comes to controllers- pretty much the opposite of the PS3 when it comes to that aspect. Sony doesn't seem to be making good choices for consumers these days of you ask me.
