That's for sure his legacy definitely lives on! I heard a guy on Daystar was giving his testimony and how he went to a Carmen concert and got saved at the altar call. How awesome is that! That's the fruit of his labor being used by God. You just never know what seeds you planted until people share their testimony like that guy did I thought that was awesome!

When Carman came up , the big names that rose with him included Rich Mullins. Much like Mullins, Carman did not make it on singing talent or having some spectacular voice and dance moves. He made it on being a hard core Christian worshiping God. Talent was there, don't get me wrong, but not Elaine Paige or Nirvana levels. But of all the music from the 80's and 90's Rich Mullins Vastly surpasses Carman in staying power. I haven't seen Carman songs in too many Hymnals, but Mullins has quite a few, including "awesome God" and "creed" in there. Mullins had a great gift for seeing things, and extracting wisdom that few others could. A man so dedicated to God that he literally made a hit song about loving the color green. Seriously, look up Rich Mullins' "the color green" song, and tell me that's not the most unique thing to thank God for that actually made a hit song content?
