My mom loves this song and used to say that part, you got to love yourself if you can ever love me to my father bc of his demons she left him years ago.......he died and never told her how much he loved her, he regretted losing her, she was the love of his life and wanted her back”. She had to find this out sorting amongst his things cleaning out his bedroom where he died & his best friends and co-workers come there and tell her these things. I’ve never seen my mother in more agony. She sat in the closet where his body was found with her legs wrapped up to her chin crying like her soul was broken. I never got to see my parents in love again. I wish I did. She was singing this song tonite driving home and tears going down her face so I decided to play it
