After finding a mobile phone a foot down, hammered coins a few inches down and seeing the Spitfires fly by I would have come to the conclusion that I had entered a rift in the space/time continuum. There wasn't a blue police call box nearby was there?

Yes mate I'd come to that exact conclusion when I found a can of kestrel super at about 18 inches and a cartwheel penny (very tidy one at that) at about 4 inches deep both on the same field. It certainly all goes up and down. Desperate to go detecting... So dry!! need some rain so I can get out. Enjoying the new vids. Cheers

Yet again a fab vid , Can I make a suggestion, it's would be good to see the fruits of your labour all cleaned up at the end of the video and to hear what research you've done in identifying the artefacts, really I just want to know if the phone still worked : ) lol

Hey! Another really interesting video thank you for sharing! I'm quite new to the world of metal detecting hoping to start hunting in Sussex next year. so this is probably a very silly question but if the plough goes down that deep and bring stuff etc like you explained would it not be better to have a metal detector that goes as deep as the deep plough or even deeper?

Love your videos. Have a detector want to get a pin pointer also. We live on a 80 acre homestead over a hundred years old In Michigan USA. Found a very old metal button can't find it's identity on the internet a 2 hole with a crown over 2 lions in a shield.. Which I could send you a picture. So much metal junk in the ground here. But it is fun ! Keep Digging...

how old was that coin you found .? what happens when you find stuff like that on the farmers land WHAT DO YOU DO ? with the finds ?
@Addictedtobleeps6 жыл бұрын
Johnny B Hello mate. Those coins are about 500 years old. Post medieval. It’s basically down to what your relation to the farmer is. It’s nice to show them what you find. Some, aren’t interested at all (well, mine aren’t) and some are, so it’s good to get that down with him/her before you start detecting. Although they’re very old and very cool, they’re not really that relevant historically. You can show them to our local FLO if you wish, and they will log them for you. They will not take them from you, and you will always own the coin. If, for example you found a whole pot of gold hammered coins, it’d be different because of the worth. What tends to happen is that you’ll have a 50/50 agreement with the farmer if any money becomes involved. Of course, all these relations are based on loyalty and truthfulness which is very important throughout. Hope it helps!

@NaturistGardener6 жыл бұрын
@@Addictedtobleeps about £450
@Addictedtobleeps6 жыл бұрын
Johnny B I think the Makro racer is about that price. As is the Minelab X Terra 505. Both are good machines and pretty easy to get on with. Alternatively is the second hand market. Anything from Cscope, Minelab, XP, and Nokta/Makro are always a safe bet. My advice would be to to find some machines in your price range, and then go onto KZbin to find more details. In all honesty though, all modern machines are pretty good these days!

@Addictedtobleeps5 жыл бұрын
Fish seabass Hi Hi! I’m not sure. I don’t think so. Reason being - have you seen those videos where they take rusty things, and leave them in coke? It completely rips off all the rust! I’m not sure that’s such a good idea with coins that are already weakened by many years in the ground. Any loss of definition will make them desirable to a collector etc. For me, olive oil is perfect. Takes ages, but is really gentle.
