Going unbeaten, while cool, is ultimately a completely meaningless achievement. The objective of football is to win, not to 'not lose'. So for me, breaking 100 points is a better achievement than going undefeated. To win as many games as possible, you're going to have to play more offensive football which inevitably will lead to some games where the opposition gets a lucky break and manages to hold onto a lead.

The treble winning United team isn't even the best United team, let alone the best ever. Arsenal drew 12 games in that "invincible year" and Liverpool were waaay better than that Chelsea team - 97 points, lost just 1 game and won the UCL, then backed up with 99 points and were 27wins/1 draw before losing a game that year in gameweek 29. Current City are about to do 5 from 6 Prems and probably a treble as well to be honest.

I had to sit down and really think about what 100 points mean... That's literally 33 games won at the very least, leaving 5 games to win 1 draw, making it so you only lose 4 games in a while season. It's insane. Going unbeaten is also impressive, but there's a difference between not losing and winning... They drew a lot and sacrificed other competitions. Great team nonetheless. I somehow feel that Liverpool run is still underrated and will be forgotten by many for how they barely missed so many accolades to a ridiculous City.

04/05 Chelsea team is definitely better than the invincibles, Chelsea lost 1 game in the league that season and scored I think 1 less goal than the invincible team and set the record for clean sheets in a season and goals conceded in a season, that still holds till today. Chelsea also scored more points than the invincibles. 95 to 90
