In interviews Taylor mentioned he knew he had a large heart but doctors stated it was one like an elite athlete due the nature of what he did regularly playing very actively sometimes for up to 3 hour during shows. After he overdosed years ago, Taylor said long ago he knew that if he wanted to be great, he had to treat the job and body like an athlete so he began to eat right and do what he needed. When asked if he ever went on stage high or under the influence, he said no because he couldn’t do what he does if he was. He also stated in interviews that he suffered from extreme anxiety and stage fright which makes me wonder if the anti depressants and anxiety meds were prescribed. Same for the opioids, were they prescribed? He recently said in an interview that he was now 50 and would continue to do what he did as long as his body holds out but age was catching up with him. I just feel like the media made it seems as if he was abusing 10 different substances while IMO I question whether it was simply a tragic cardiac event that was not recoverable. I’m not making quick judgements. Just waiting on more results of post mortem tests but does it matter really matter? He’s no longer with us and will be greatly missed. My heart breaks for Dave Grohl, the FooFighters, and Taylor’s family.

Thank you so much! I just want to put out there that I myself was born with an enlarged heart, and went on living and had 2 beautiful children, but as time passed, I had shortness of breath, terrible chest pains, and if I tried to lay down and sleep at night, it felt like an anchor sitting on my chest. I was diagnosed with congestive heart failure, and the doctors told me I was a walking miracle. My heart is 33% larger than the normal for women, and they said if I'd waited another 36 hours, I'd have gone into cardiac arrest. The only reason I'm alive is because I had surgery to get a pacemaker / defibrillator installed, and am on 7 different medicines for the rest of my life. I feel like if Taylor had a pacemaker / defibrillator, that could've saved his life... My heart breaks for this, and I hope they discover what really happened

As a huge fan of Taylor Hawkins, I appreciate the professional and respectful manner in which you explained the possible causes of his tragic premature death. I know that fans around the world are hurting right now and just the idea of him no longer being back behind his pink drum set with that huge smile on his face is almost too much to endure. He was a brilliant musician, a fantastic singer and, unfortunately, had a history of serious drug use. In the end, my feeling is that once a guy has cheated death like Taylor did in London, lying in a coma for two weeks, he has established the fact that he has a serious issue that needed to be regularly and consistently treated, as an ongoing therapeutic preventative for exactly what eventually took his life. Regardless of what we think we know about the addicts in our lives, it's rarely the whole truth. People relapse after 20 years all the time. So, whatever we discover about this tragic demise it is my hope that we can all learn from it and perhaps help someone else struggling with similar issues. It would be a great way to honor Taylor.

People that make excuses,(addicts and enablers) are a huge part of the problem. I am a recovering addict and I can honestly say we love to find ways to justify our behavior which ultimately ends up killing us. It's not about passing judgement it's about recognizing consequences. I am a life long Tom Petty fan,love the guy. On what would be his last tour he insisted on continuing the tour,(with pharmaceutical help) even though he had a broken hip which any rational person would have said the rest of the tour will have to wait. But Tom was a recovering addict,(again I'm not judging) this disease is so cunning and patient and will convince you that the end always justifies the means. So he continues with the help of some really heavy hitters (Oxy,Xanax and Fentanyl) and his heart gave out. Another casualty : ( For the people who love us please don't enable behavior that will eventually kill us......call us on our shit. It may not be enough but it is a start. Bogotá has an altitude of almost 9,000 ft. It affects the cardiovascular system. I know when I get there, my BP increases significantly for a few days. Now that I'm hypertensive hypertensive, I'm even more careful and I take an extra half a dose of my med until my monitor shows it has gone down. Many people take a stiff drink for this. When Elton John was there, he thought he was having a heart attack and ran out of stage. It can be seen in his Tantrums and Tiaras video with EMTs rescuing him. I believe he did know about his enlarged heart. I saw an interview with him where he said he had his heart checked and that he was in good health but his heart was big. He also mentions it in the most recent Rolling Stone interview (published July 2021): “I’m healthy. I’m good … I get sinus infections really bad. And I just found out from my doctor, got all my blood tests and my heart everything checked and he goes, “Dude, you’re in amazing shape. Your heart’s big, because you exercise a lot. It’s like a runner’s heart.” And that’s fine. The only thing is, he said, “I think you have sleep apnea.” And my wife’s always saying you snore and you fucking make weird noises while you’re sleeping and stuff.”

I suspect that the doctors did not work him up enough for heart issues. They were fooled by his athletic appearance and his lack of serious symptoms.. If he had an echocardiogram they could have seen how damaged his heart was... I bet this happened slowly over the years, so he compensated for it.. I heard that June 2021 RollingStone podcast, too.. I'm pretty sure most of the med's were prescribed, for his severe pain and anxiety. . He also was very tired... I doubt he was abusing drugs. As a Colombian I am first extremely sorry for the way that the general attorney handled and spread the news of “10 different substances” that were found after an urine test. Now let’s bring it back to some facts. Here in Colombia even though we have that horrid stereotype, we don’t have an opioid epidemic and most people who are drug users chose different type of narcotics. Based on the fact that Taylor had suffered from an overdose in the past, it is highly possible that he consumed methadone, and one of the side effects is depression, which will explain the opioid + tricyclic antidepressants found on the test. As the doctor explained the combination of such substances could lead into a cv accident.

I am on Suboxone & sitting in the hospital right now for the 8th day. I get to go home today thankfully! But anyways, I had to go to the OR on my 3rd day here & have a debridement done on my foot/leg & was freaking out having never been put under before. The anesthesia person told me they were going to give me fentanyl & 2 other drugs. They said since my tolerance from Suboxone is so high they will have to give me larger amounts they normally give to keep me under & not feel it while I was under. When I woke up, I instantly was screaming in pain & they gave me IV Dilaudid & it did _nothing_ so the nurse said she had to wait 10 mins to give me more. Once she did, it took the edge off the pain & made it bearable. Since that day, I only get my Suboxone 8mg every 12 hours & Motrin 600 every 8. Without the Suboxone, I'd really be hurting. It definitely helps for pain. I was scared tho getting so many different drugs in the operating room!! Now I have to start skin graphs 🤦♀️
@geoffreyrosenberg80702 жыл бұрын
IMO in emergent ER events this is a serious concern. Esp if someone has chronic pain, and the prevalence of this. Many actually become addicted to street fent due to the lack of analgesic effect post surgery on subs, at least on a full agonist MAT like methadone, its actually approved and trialed for pain and it can treat addiction.

As an ex heroin addict, I really suggest you start weaning off the suboxone as soon as possible because the withdrawal off of that is damn close to the heroin withdrawal.. a slow taper. I wish you the best and God bless 🙏🙏

I have a question doctor or a statement..I was an addict I've been clean for about a year I contracted sepsis and had a valve replaced all last year I'm 32 years old. So many people quit drugs for different reasons and have been successful every different type of way to abstain. When I was using drugs gave me a happy feeling like I used to enjoy knowing I had it or am getting it. I guees my question is how do I replace those feelings of happiness I've tried alot different hobbies should I see psychiatrist? I'm not worried about relapsing because it would literally be the last time ever. Thanks for reading.

@emyserozzi80882 жыл бұрын
@@ascensionessentials Same. He might have been on many drugs, but opiates, antidepressants and benzos rarely ever cause myocarditis, if taken as suggested by your GP doctor. Regardless, he was in good shape and form, up until his passing. So I don't believe the bullshit about his long-time "addiction". Truly the booster shot might have played a big role in this tragedy. We can only hope more and more people who got the vaccines report any long-time side effects they might have, so they can start a lawsuit against Pfizer and Moderna. People choosed to get vaccinated to avoid dying of COVID-19. But it looks like these vaccines cause more severe reactions than COVID itself. We truly got lied about the "safety" of these vaccines, as even healthy people in their 18s or 30s, with no health problems, are also dying from myocarditis and strokes. Something's definitely fucked up.

5:00 TCAs are hardly ever used recreationally, i be very surprised if he was *not* prescribed the TCA. He would have had to be on it for at least 4 weeks to get any AD effect. As opposed to the even more effective ADs the MAOIs, TCAs generally do not cause euphoria, a "high", even as a start up s/e. However, as you said they do have a narrow therapeutic index and can have serious cardiovascular s/e's, and with a pre-existing heart condition TCA use could have spelled big trouble.

The first day I heard about it, my guess was opioids and benzos. I was on hydrocodone for several years for chronic abdominal pain, under that care of an MD pain specialist. One day I took one of my wife's clonazepam for a severe panic attack. When my doctor got my piss test results, he called and put the FEAR OF GOD into me about respiratory heart failure due to combining the two. Now I'm on a tricyclic as a big time anticolonergic, so I'm finally off the hydrocone. I can take benzos again when needed. A+B=C In this case A+B=DEATH.

Educating doctors is also important bc the public gets their cues & clues from them. Trust in doctors bc they ‘do no harm’. Lotta those drugs U mentioned were prescription meds. That often starts with prescribed meds for mental/physical pain that can easily spill over into recreational misuse if ya don’t know about potential dangers. Esp. if you’re young-ish like musicians whose profession & lifestyle are demanding. Think Prince, Michael Jackson, etc. I’ve known enuf rock&rollers in my lifetime who walk or go over the edge. Imo, most don’t think they’re gonna OD; not from prescription meds bc they’re legal. And cocaine, not meth, was their stimulant of choice. Illegal but the public image profile is more acceptable & not seen as a killer. Ditto for alcohol; legal so trust yr govt. Mix & match drug/alcohol culture founded on trust. I’m presently tapering a 20+ yr ‘dependency’ to benzos & stimulants (ADD). Never offered an ‘informed consent’ about any dangers. Btw, I use cannabis edibles to help benzo-induced insomnia & my Fitbit will show lowered HR & breathing, sometimes significant. The ‘opioid crisis’ & other prescription meds misuse starts as a Big Pharma problem, with uninformed doctors, rushed by 15 minute checkups, reliant on quick prescription treatments, being the go-between pushers. The last to know is the public, who read about celebrity deaths or become victims themselves.

Absolutely! Thanks for input

Spot on. Doctors in North America are too quick to push medicines instead of doing a proper differential diagnosis. They use medications as a bandaid. Many people are gas lighted by lazy and incompetent doctors. It’s easier for them to say a person has anxiety or is hysterical or has a mental imbalance. Prescription meds are cheaper than injections and surgery and that’s why medication management reigns supreme. By keeping someone injured these doctors make money on prescriptions.
