It would be cool that when you go outside you can see some light rays that are peeking through the ruins to make a visual stransition between the inside and outside!
@Ric_934 жыл бұрын
Thank you Jelle! I've tried adding a sort of 'light explosion' when you first go out (to give the impression that you're blinded by the light), but it's not working correctly yet! Work in progress

Hey Ric. You've come a long way since you released the 1st look of the game to us. This is now looking more refined and even better with effects. I'm looking up to devs like you and thinmatrix for my inspiration in gamedev. 👍

Thank you for the feedback! What do you not like about the portals exactly/how can I improve them? They're used as a way to fast travel across the map!

1:50 you probably already thought of this but just did not imminent it. But when the portals don't have the required components the component slots and the rune at the top should be blue or dark gray as seen in the UI. Then when you add the required component that slot should turn yellow or whatever color the portal is. With both components, the rune should then turn yellow. Right now when you walk up to a inactive portal the rune on top and the two slots for the component makes it look like it is active. Players will eventually know an active portal vs an inactive one based on the actual portal part. But I assume you won't always have both components for the portal. That you will have to work for them. The portal should reflect that I put one component in it and am still missing one. That way new players will know that the portal is inactive and I need the right component to make it active.
@Ric_934 жыл бұрын
Hello Android! Thank you for the feedback. Yes, that's still a work in progress. Similar to what I've got for the puzzle pieces, the slots in the portal will be updated real-time whenever an item is inserted. And if one item is missing, it'll be clear visually (I'd also like to play a bit with some light effect to make it even clearer when an item is in the slot vs when the slot is empty). Didn't think of the top part, but it does make sense to also play with it to clearly show when the portal is active!

What engine are you using for light? i liked more the cave on dark it makes more sense,why dont you use torchs and other stuffs and keep this cave dark? it has more impact. I have a good tip for you, if i would compare your game its like Control from remedy,but what i feel its missing is dinamism, you put some puzzles,its great point,but why dont use more people on some locations to ask help,tell story of this location,etc..? it would make your journey on this cave more dinamic,another try instead is put some boss fight or challenge enemies blocking the enter of these puzzles location.. Your game is great,im starting to make video game as well but i analise many games for years,saw many dev logs from great developers and im a huge fan of hideo kojima... so i can help with tips,im bad on creating pixel arts and you are the master here on this ;D also i love make 3d objects, im starting with my brother a survival rpg game,the story is very far and almost done,starting to make the art and 3d enviroment
