Ok, so I ran a couple tests on install speed. I forgot to put it in the video. HDD: 11:26 for blue screen install 14:40 for more user install 26:07 total SSD 12:34 for blue screen install 10:33 for user install 23:25 total Basically negligible, but the actual boot and uh working speed would be faster with a SSD, and no clicking for fragmenting.

Except for the driver issue, this worked like a charm. A brand new SSD in an older computer. Running smoother. Hell yay.
@hay_den9002Ай бұрын
Definitely! And the driver was just a strange effect of the drive. It’s explained better at the end
@eearthy3768Ай бұрын
ssds these days are definitely worth it because they are cheap and make an old computer feel like a new one! Great content, keep it up!!
@hay_den9002Ай бұрын
Yep! That’s one of the best things a computer can get
@DARK__KINGАй бұрын
no they are not cheap and ssd knows to have low lifespan

Very cool project, I just wouldn't run windows but you do you. Im into Linux, Freebsd and Haiku OS
@hay_den9002Ай бұрын
lol, matter a fact I have NEVER used Linux, it may be a new video! “Hayden loses it over Linux”
@Kq4hcuDanАй бұрын
@hay_den9002 it's all good, I flipped my sh** learning how to install Linux back in the early 2000's I'm struggling now to learn freebsd and Haiku OS. It just takes getting used too.

There are ready modified Windows Xp isos with Sata drivers enabled automatically while installing the operating system, very convinient.

Surprised at the installation time, I used to have to build XP desktops and installs would take 30 mins on a mid-2000's desktop with a HDD.
@hay_den9002Ай бұрын
Yikes, but that’s the deal with HDD and the spinny disks.
@Dr_McKayАй бұрын
@ I might be mistaken I thought you said it took 23 minutes to install with the ssd near the beginning?
@hay_den9002Ай бұрын
Uh possibly I don’t fully remember but around 15-20 sounds about right.

Hey! I recommend that if you show any component in front of the camera, keep it still and in focus. Do not shake or jiggle it wildly, as this is annoying for the viewer, and prevents the viewer from perceiving the interesting features and information of the component in question. Bye!
@hay_den9002Ай бұрын
Hmmm, I’ll take this into consideration. Any examples In the video? My guess would be where I take the camera off the mount and “show” the floppy drive.

Installing Antix or pclinuxos would make the drive upgrade a nobrainer.

You’re making a lot of changes, i.e. in bios, speed through and not explain what or why you’re doing it.
@hay_den9002Ай бұрын
Hmm, I may have cut that. But I’m just trying different combos to see what works.
