Good job on the sump install. You might want to consider installing a check valve / non return valve on the sump line to prevent dirty water returning to the barrel adding to the potential smell. I have one on my sump and it works really well. 👍🏻

Hi mate with a view to settlement and smell in the bottom we run a similar set up and use weighted airline formed in a circle that keeps the dirt in suspension , just a thought looking good.

No problwm,we used perforated airline weighted down with a couple of part blocks a t piece and ran it off a 30 litre per min air pump never had a problem, be careful if using air stones as the pump can pull them in depending on size. Cheers

Another piece of the jigsaw added when you finally connect to your drain think about adding a non-return valve straight after your pump otherwise the water will keep flowing back into your sump

It may not smell now but it will do, just give it some time as we have a sump and because it doesn't quite get all the muck out the stuff left in the bottom will start to smell. Might a soak away been better ?
