Thanks! I'm 48 years old and I'm finishing up a Structural Welding Certificate program and we must know how to calculate the length of a steel beam or column to be cut in the field or in the shop. This was helpful.

Why do you multiply it by 4/4?

To get a common denominator. 4/4 is essentially 1 because any number divided by itself is 1, and multiplying anything by one remains the same. I did it to get a common denominator.

in 3:40 for every 12 inches you have extra foot where did you get the total of 15" ?
