Glad to get to see your videos again, I'm in WNC in Buncombe County where Helene hit. We've been without water and likely won't have any for several more days. Worried sick about keeping my bonsai trees alive, have to walk a ways to get stream water that we're using for flushing. Can't complain really, so many neighbors and friends are devastated. Your videos are a very welcome break from what's happening around us. Thanks!

Excellent work, I enjoy juniper as a bonsai. They just have a mystic feel to them. Thanks Milton for your sage advice and suggestions.

Thank you kindly. They burn juniper in Buddhist temple in Tebet for aroma.....That was my most memorable trip about 25 years ago!

Applying these techniques to my Juniperus sp. has allowed me to make sense of some of the more unruly/tough material in my collection. It has allowed the tree to guide me rather than making something contrived, like you say. It is cool to see my juniper grow into itself and not be forced to be something it is not. Thanks, homie!

I don't want to rush my bonsai. I want to take it slow. But when working with Juniper, I don't know whether my shaping choices will create an optimally beautiful design. Your videos help me make the hard choices.

@MiltonChang Thank you! I'm going to be courageous with my cuts. Will it hurt my juniper to drastically cut it in the fall? Or should I wait until spring?

My man put it in the ground for 15-20yrs so it can "grow fast" 😂. It's a legal adult now. What a hobby this is.

So i recently got a massive ponderosa pine. what is your go to for disease and pest for the continued life of the tree. The seller wouldn't say what product they used cause he works in professional landscaping.

Sorry, both spectacular ponderosa pines I bought did not make it after several years. The one at the National Bonsai Museum did too after good 15 years.…So I have no advice. Please share your experience with us!

@bonsaiheirloom so I was curious why my pine was so cheep, i looked at the roots and sadly it had a bad case of root rot from the rusty rebar holding it up. So I did the only thing I could think of in this emergency situation to get my shears red hot and snip out the affected area. Right now it's currently in a massive recovery pot. Of pine bark, pea gravel, pumice, akadama, perlite, red lava rock, biochar with mycorrhizal. I will keep you updated on its recovery status.
