Adding Charms to A Traveler's Notebook (Galen Leather Wallet Setup)

Okay, where are my Traveler's Notebook-As-A-Wallet people! I'm new to this setup and I'd love to hear how you make yours work for you. I use the camel passport as a wallet, I love it. I don't get to take it out much, but it's honestly the perfect wallet because it's a book.

OMG that is my favorite charm ever! I have mine on my olive edition traveler's notebook that I had customized by Baum-Kuchen. It is the charm that inspired me to make my own :)

I've had a Galen Leather passport size as my wallet with various inserts for the past six years. It's a little chunky and it's not that full but it's a pretty blue with four strings and so functional I haven't thought twice about replacing it.

Such a wonderful charm and your camel notebook is lovely, as is the Galen Leather insert💚 I just received a gently used camel passport that I plan to set up as my wallet, too, but am waiting on a couple little things and may condition the notebook to deepen the color a bit. Thank you! Aw, that sounds lovely! I’ve been thinking about buying a used camel regular size TN because I’ve been enjoying this one lately, especially after conditioning it. I haven’t been using it as a wallet setup lately; now, it houses a tiny journal and a sketchbook!

Ooh, interesting! Which brand is it? Does it still have an elastic closure or is it another type? For notebooks where you can’t untie the elastic, you could also use jump rings and pliers to attach charms.

I loveeee the galen leather insert! I bet it would work as a cover all on it's own if you wrapped a rubber band around the middle and slipped a notebook or two around the band.

Hi Lauren. Are you still using the passport tn? How is that little pen working?

I’m using a few passport TNs at the moment! The setup for this one has changed, but I’m always changing them - it keeps things interesting. I keep the little pen in my bag in case I need to sign a receipt here or there, so I don’t use it very often, but it works well for that.
