Thanks for sharing this.... game changer for us auto electric novices...no one else seems to have mentioned it...and i have been riding bikes for 35 years!

I am amazed manufacturers don’t provide this functionality as they know we add accessories. Glad it helped.

I also am no auto-electrician. That seems very straight forward and easy to manage. It's on my wish list now. Thank you!

Get the one with two circuits. It is a little more expensive but gives more options for accessories. It is the tb-u02 option.

Brilliant I’m getting one, just going to fit heated grips and a usb charger on my Honda nc750s

Great bits of kit. I am about to fit fog lights and with the Thunderbox it couldn’t be easier
@kevindarkstar7 ай бұрын
Just be aware that some heated grips use pulsing current and can be a bit of a problem with the thunder box, but if you do have any issues use the white lead to a switched 12+ live which will fire up on ignition switch on, but most cases you should be OK 👍🏻

Thanks very much. Looks like a clever bit of tech.
@upnorthbiker Жыл бұрын
It takes all the hassle out of adding accessories. The dual output is the better option as it can handle more current.

Every time i look fore reviews of the healtech thunderbox i see comments that say stuff like "just get a relay and wire it up like this. Its way cheaper" Then i remeber how a incorrectly wired up heated grip almost burned my bike down Plan on getting the 32A version for my DRL side mirrors, 12v socket, heated grips and low beams. In combination with a light sensing switch i will have the lovely DRL mirrors on when its bright and low beams when its dark. All wired without killing my battery

Yep they are great bits of kit and take the risk away as you say.

I have just bought an Led headlight for my Enfield 350 class but the connection in the new light has an extra wire to make the daytime light blink amber with indicator but I don’t know where to connect it ? The three prong light connection is easy and the one wire I will connect to the low beam for daylight light? Thanks
@MsDenver23 ай бұрын
I understand what you said about fitting the thunder box but I would still have to fit switches for my different accessories so the thunder box will know what I want on or off ? Not sure how I would fit all the switches? Or do I just connect all my accessories to the USB or USC switches oh my bike is a 350 Classic Enfield. Sorry I’m thick when it comes to electrical stuff? 😊

@@upnorthbiker Hi , thanks for your reply . The first thing I want to fit is an Led headlight it has a standard three connector and a wire to make sure the day riding light comes on with the dipped beam , I’m ok with the above . The problem is where to connect the second wire which turns the day riding to yellow and flashes with the indicators ? Is there some where else in the headlight to connect that wire or do i connect it somewhere else on the bike ? Thanks Donna 👍🏍️
@upnorthbiker3 ай бұрын
@@MsDenver2 Do you not have 2 wires for the indicators one for left and one for right. Is it the Alchemy headlight unit you are fitting.

Great video. Considering getting this for my tiger, my only question is, do you have any idea how this works alongside an optimate trickle charger? Thanks again. M
@upnorthbiker Жыл бұрын
As long as the optima’s connect to the battery there will be no problem. Do you have the aux power socket on the left side of the engine just below the tank as the is where I connect my optimate to
@Bikingcritter Жыл бұрын
Do you have a link for the voltage meter on your handlebars
@upnorthbiker Жыл бұрын
Hi I got it from Amazon but they don't have it is stock anymore. I found it on ebay here www.ebay.co.uk/itm/254690595554 The voltmeter is accurate but the temperature readout is very optimistic. It has 2 usb connectors which is what i bought it for.

Did you get the dual output one or the single that I fitted. The dual was out of stock when I bought mine but I could do with the extra circuit.
@daveo9844 Жыл бұрын
@@upnorthbiker Just the single one for me as I only needed gps and usb power. It’s fantastic as you can’t really splice into modern bike wiring these days (2022 Tiger) 🍻

I don´t have the nerve to search for switched ignition feeds and don´t want to potentially destroy the wiring on my bike so I´ve been running my fog lights and heated grips just wired to the battery. Not ideal as I have to turn them on and off manually every time I get off the bike. Couldn´t get myself to spend 70€ on this thing but I think I will finally give in.
@upnorthbiker Жыл бұрын
Had mine running for over a year now with no problems

@@upnorthbiker I finally got a Thunderbox yesterday and I´m very happy with it. I have my fog lights and heated grips wired to it. I only have one problem: Whenever my heated grips are turned on and I kill the engine, everything stays on indefinitely. When I had them turned off, my other accessories switch off after 10 seconds, just how it´s supposed to be. Did you have any similar problems? For your information, I use Koso heated grips. I don´t know why this happens but the Thunderbox should overrule everything.
@upnorthbiker Жыл бұрын
Did you wire the thunderbox directly to the battery. It detects the changes in voltage to work out if should turn on or off. If when the grips are on it does not switch off it might be worth checking your battery is ok using a multimeter to measure the voltage when the grips are on and the engine is running compared to when the engine stops
@Watson2108 Жыл бұрын
@@upnorthbiker Yes that´s what I did. When the engine is running the voltage is between 13.5 and 14 volts, when it´s off it is between 12 and 12.7 volts. I contacted healtech support as well and they said that the heated grips likely trick the box into thinking that the engine is still running. They said the only option is connecting the white wire to an ignition switched feed, which I now did.
