The whole thing with the fascia made me smile, because that's exactly the kind of thing I find myself doing. Things have to be finished, or I'll fixate about it 😆 Love your artistry, man.

The fascia really brings the whole thing together - and hides all those joist ends! I was looking forward to a bit of bridge work - maybe next time ;-)
@chrislambert52492 жыл бұрын
I wonder if the bridge will be on hinges. If so will the fascia board be strong enough? 🤔
@JasonJensenTrains2 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much Davie!!! Tune in next week for bridge work! 👍

Hi ya Jason. I know the feeling. Having something bugging you so badly, there’s only one thing to do. Get it done, son. So funny. Nicely done. I’m enjoying this a lot. Have a good rest of your weekend. Take care. See ya next time.

Nice! It’s the carving that makes it great. The basic construction is straight forward, but the cracked concrete and weathered look. Wow. Looking forward to seeing it with the rock work and paint.

Nice work. I assume that the smooth side is on the exterior facing side of the fascia board. I really does give it a museum quality appearance. Cracks in the cement retaining wall really look real. Great way to start a Saturday morning ☕

Jason, the layout was looking pretty good before you added the fascia, but somehow adding it (and especially painting it) really does set it all off, pulling the whole thing together. Really nice work there.

Thank you so much Chazzy!!! I really appreciate it! It really did change the look of the layout. I keep walking in and sneaking a peek at it today, lol. I’m really happy with it!

Another fascinating video. I've learnt SO many new skills watching your channel and new ways of doing things. I'm in the UK but have been buying a hoard of FOS kits as you guys over the pond seem to have far more interesting kits. So much scope for playing with colour, weathering, kit bashing, etc

You never disappoint cranking up the motivational juices. I am surprised you painted your facia but understand you putting it up. It really looks great. Have you ever tried the tissue paper technic for adding water? Been going back over past videos to refresh on how you did things and painting. My Saw mill build is about 85% done, thanks for the inspiration to use wood.
@JasonJensenTrains2 жыл бұрын
Thank you so very much Will!!! I have not tried it but have seen videos on it. Good luck on finishing up your saw mill! Thanks for watching buddy!!! 👍

Jason, looking great as always! I'm amazed with the effects you get using pink foam. I notice that in all of the camera shots, you have a Pratt (or is it Howe?) truss bridge oriented upside down. Please, please tell me you don't intend to install it that way! I see so many modelers who think that bridges can just be flipped upside down as though that didn't impact the bridge design. If you want to install a truss bridge below the tracks, that's great - you just need to provide abutments at either end of the (rightside up) bridge, and provide some track support at either end of the bridge. See, for example, Campbell #761.
@JasonJensenTrains2 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much!!! Be sure to watch the next video. I think you will be happy with how the bridge turns out. Thanks for watching!!!

Looking forward to seeing more of your retaining wall painting. I'm wondering why black and not green or something different on your fascia. Trying to decide what to do with mine 🤔.

Jason, thank you for your great, great videos. Please keep them coming. Question; have you ever used MOD-PODGE . In your builds?. I used it on a demo sign using what I learned in one on your older videos..
@JasonJensenTrains2 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much Bob!!! I tend not to use mod podge because it has a little bit of a shine to it when it dries. But it works great!

I like the fascia, but I don't think you said what it was made of in the video?
@CassidysWorkshop2 жыл бұрын
The fascia really does give a finished look to it, bravo! Do you plan to pour your water, or just use an acrylic product like Mod Podge? If you pour, will you have some sort of permanent dam on the edge, or just a temporary piece to contain it?
@JasonJensenTrains2 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much Greg!!! I’ll use some type of acrylic product. It may be the last thing that’s ever done on the layout. As always, thanks for watching!!! 👍

Lol a little bit of OCD there with the fascia. But I'm the same, just have to do jobs in a particular order so that I feel comfortable moving on with the next bit. Loving how it's looking. ;-}

Hi Jason - What would recommend as a minimum set of colours for weathering techniques (buildings and wagons only). Thanks

The most inexpensive ( but still good) way to go is craft paint from Michael’s or Hobby Lobby. Happy painting!!! 👍
