I believe the lily type one is American pondweed. POTAMOGETON NODOSUS.

Dan, the feathery stuff looks like the hornwort I have in my pond in the UK. Might do better floating rather than planted 👍

Love your tanks. Absolutely beautiful. You were wondering what to put on your waterfall area, I’m curious to know would moss work? I’m a newbie to all of this but I find your tanks beautiful. Enjoyable to watch.

I've never had luck with moss. I think I have too much light.

Hay Dan those plants you picked up from the lake, they won't infect your tank will it.

Dan, are you not afraid of introducing pests or disease in your tanks from the wild plants?
@DanHiteshew-oneandonly4 жыл бұрын
Not too much. I'll talk about it in an upcoming video. (I probably should be though. lol)

Hey Dan I wanted to get your opinion on something. I moved out of parents house and I want to get a fish tank for my new apartment. My building only allows tanks 40 gallons or lower. My question is how much do you think something like that would hurt my electric bill? I've fallen out of the hobby over the last year and half or so and I want to get back into it. Thanks
@DanHiteshew-oneandonly4 жыл бұрын
It depends on how you set it up. You can do a HOB filter for about 20 to 30 watts. You probably won't need a heater, but if so, that would be another 150 to 200 watts (intermittently as needed). Lights could be as little as 20 watts if you use lower lighting and LEDs. (I have 16 watt light hanging over my 40 Gudgeon tank)

@@DanHiteshew-oneandonly Yea I was planning on getting a fluvel hob filter. I still want to get a heater, you never know if you'll need it. Do you think a set up like that will hurt my bill that badly or am I being paranoid?
@DanHiteshew-oneandonly4 жыл бұрын
@@yackemflaber84 Few bucks a month. It'll be like keeping an old 100 watt porch light on at nights.
