You’re so right about the lack of purple items in the Sims, James Turner had the exact same problem when he was doing Tiny Town. We simply must petition the devs to give us more purple! 💜 (also I think the house slays)

Yeah purple is a TOUGH color in the Sims 4!! Plus I think it is obvious that purple is the main color here regardless of the other colors used.

You don't have to apologize for doing things your way. I'm amongst those who have a knack for industrial in a "dirty, pipelines" kind of style, but it is a specific taste and I get that there isn't many options for that in the Sims, especially for colorful, which Art's style definitely is (I wish for more purple options in the Sims). With that said, I still like how his studio turned out, and I also think it's good to note that not everyone is going to be mastering a style the first time they try doing it. I really enjoy how building came into your gameplays more and more, and I see Tiny Town as a fun opportunity to try things in the end, and that's what I'm here for : seeing how this little virtual community evolves (and the drama the Sims get into)

I thought Art's house wasn't purple enough but I realized you did your best when I had to do my own purple Tiny Town build and I could barely find anything purple that matches in that game. His house is industrial and purple enough, don't worry so much about it! Have fun to where the decorating takes you!

When I did tiny town I didn’t even pick a style in advance for any of them because I just wanted to do whatever I felt like in the moment for the sim. I think you’ve done really well! Better a nice house that fits the sim than one that exactly fits a specific style!

Don't worry about the design criticisms! When you catch up to last video's comments, it looked like a lot of the people that critiqued before came around to the design you went for. Part of the fun of watching videos like this is seeing how different each person approaches a design style. IMO it looked great in the end. Very funky artist vibes.

10:30 you can actually set up the camera before doing any paintings, photos, selfies, cross stitch etc with camera states! If you go into tab mode(doesn't matter where or how), you can press Ctrl + 5-9, each of these will save the position your camera is currently in. (I don't recommend using 9, as it'll interfere with raising objects in build mode) You can then press Alt + 5-9 to clear the camera states. Just make sure you're using the numbers keys at the top of your computer, and to clear the camera states afterwards. Then you'll (almost) never have an awkward photo again! 😄 This works best with portrait paintings without the pose mod since changing poses by ingame means will put the camera back to it's "original state" (aka horribly cropping out both sims you're trying to take a selfie of out of the photo)

If you don’t want to see someone else’s style influence in the game than maybe those people should play the sims themselves instead of telling other people how they should play a freeform game

First thing, every house in tiny town is a great interpretation of the tiny townies. I see nothing but more amazing builds for the future townies. Second, the "town hall" I think it should have a space that represents each townie. Like for Art maybe a room full of his art work. Hiasin have it full of flower arrangements. Inagid a photo gallery. And the same for the rest. But have the main floor be like a gathering place. So maybe a small sitting room with a fireplace and book case or a game room. That way each tiny townie has a piece of themselves to share and a place to gather for holidays or meetings.

As a lover of the industrial style, I do not think Art's home is industrial, but I also don't think that Kelsey needs to change anything. And Kelsey is right in that the Sims really doesn't offer a whole lot in the industrial style to begin with. Most of what I use for industrial is custom

My great aunt was an eccentric artist obsessed with purple and yes the outsides of all the buildings on her property were purple (because it’s so much easier IRL!), the interiors looked exactly like this!
