Niiiice. Some pre-season stoke. The fleet color scheme is gong full PB red. Can't wait to see it get a blade/tiller, and lay some corduroy.

Hey Sam, What i built to help me was simply a 10 foot long 3x3 steel piece to attach to the blade mount with a hook for a chain. I angle the blade to the same side im hooking up, Once i get the track close i just angle the blade in the opposite direction so it pulls the track. It works pretty slick and obviously easier on man power to pull it.

Definitely look into the new 6 belt tracks. You will save a lot of money on grousers

Yep, that would be nice!!! Thanks for tuning in!!

Dude that said he does one side at a time was right. makes it way easier to move the cat around and square it up. we drop the stinger down then lift it with the telehandler. Those hydraulics to the tiller can hold more down pressure than that telehandler can lift. walk it on with the front couple bogeys then swing the back end to adjust instead of yanking on that heavy ass track. Also, when you get to the front of the track just chain it together then back the cat up until the belt link is on top and behind the cab and between two bogeys, those clamps work alot better and then you arnt fighting the plates and bolts for the belts on an arch, and you have alot more room to work. Im sure thats a tight track with all those extra picks, grouzers and fresh belts. hope this helps! love from BOYNE MOUNTAIN, BOYNE USA

Nice!! That makes a lot of sense. I'm sharing these insights with Stu, so it's much appreciated! What a task, track installation... It's no joke! Thanks a ton for watching and commenting!! More vids coming soon

@@samlovescars34 Definitely not an easy task! this is how we learned some of our tricks, sharing info with fellow cat mechanics. usually at the pistenbully class every year and with Mike over at pistenbully US, hes a super cool guy if you ever have any questions!

Mehhh I usually do both at the same time too. just measure the space in between wheels and tire guides.

Good to see stu again. Nice to see him upgrading the fleet. I wonder how the frame got cracked on this one. ouch. Hope you and him are having a good summer. I'M sure he will be busy getting this one ready for the season! Do you where this one came from?
@BC_EX_SG8 ай бұрын
Stu here. The cat was a terrain park cat at Park city. It spent its life pushing lots of snow. The frame crack is a common issue on these cats, it is right where the mount for the hydraulic tank is welded to the frame. After lots of hard use many 400s crack in that same spot. Its all fixed up now!

start from the front and bring the break to the back of the machine where the power is, you can give it a tug and help bind it easier in the open!
@samlovescars346 ай бұрын
We will keep that in mind for the next one. Thanks!! And thanks for watching!

I have found when tracking up. If your not lining up to put the lacing bolts in on the front idler. To take two short ratchet straps on the track and back it up near the sprocket. Also it is a lot easer to start putting the lacing plates on the inside of the track and work to the outside. What year is the 400 is it a tier 4 ?
@BC_EX_SG8 ай бұрын
It is a 2016, and it is tier 4.
