Hi SolderKing; great video, I am having issues with my k95 same as the one shown love it to bits as its great to type on. Issue 1 is it randomly disconnects I suspect its the USB plugs causing the issue. Issue 2 is the RGB is strange some of the colours are off massively or do not light up properly. I am not sure if the LEDs have just died with age or again its to use with a faulty usb. (I cannot afford to replace the device atm [also I like having my 18 G keys newer boards do not have that for some reason]) 1. So my question is do you think that this mod may help solve this issue? And could you please link the parts seems like a simple fix. Or alternatively do you know where to get the original usb cable at all, I can only find k70 cables. 2. I noticed you replaced only one of the connectors on the board, Is there a reason the other connector does not need to be connected, was it just for additional power? (I currently only use 1 usb port as it is plugged into a 3.1 hub) Once again thank you for the awesome video and apologies for any stupid questions, subscribed :D

Does a single USB 3.1 provide enough power to the keyboard?

Hello! Excellent video! Why don't you make a video transforming a Lightning to USB-C female connector, used in, for example, Beats products. It would certainly be much simpler, since they only provide energy and not data. First video suggestion: Beats Pill +. 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

Hello, I have followed your tuto but I got a problem ... I've tried soldering a breakout board usb-ce, I did well I think. The first board was a cheap one, I've tried a regular usb-c to usb A 2.0 cable, and it works, but after that I tried a swift cable coiled. And the keyboard started to act weird ...It turns on and then off, and windows says "unknown device". Any idea ?

So no USB passthrough in doing this? I'd love to do it to my logitech board, but it has a passthrough. How would one achieve this?
@Solder_king Жыл бұрын
This old keyboard used two USB plugs to accommodate the lack of power output on 2.0 ports. This mod is possible with passthrough and you can tackle it by either adding two USB c ports or a hub controller with one port.

@@Solder_king ah I see. Ideally, I'd like one USB C cable coming out of the board that supports passthrough. That would be nice

@@Solder_king where does one find a good hub controller? (Other than buying and opening a hub) I remember looking for one but not finding anything.

Which jst connector does the corsair board use. Is it the 5 pin jst xh 2.5 or the jst 2.0 ph ? I want to do this but would prefer the option to revert in the future.

Weird question: can I upgrade a laptop that I have sp that the usb port becomes Thunderbolt instead of just 3.1? Or that just gonna fuck everything up?
@TheNpcNoob Жыл бұрын
You could change the connection to Type-C but it will still run 3.1 speeds.

Just buy JST socket instead of remove the connector

Or just clip the leads of the original cable with enough slack to strip and solder to the breakout board and still cable manage/plug into the original connector.
