I posted this on Facebook. This song COMPLETELY changed my life. Thank you so much! Most of you know I have Bipolar Disorder. What a lot of you don’t know is that I was in an abusive marriage for many years. I was told I was crazy, couldn’t remember things, called derogatory names, even physical abuse - and in the height of my depression, gaslighted to no end. I believed every lie. I was in another state, completely isolated from my family and support system. I would never leave due to my fear and it is then I turned to God. He was my last option but my only option. Upon hearing this song, I was literally brought to my knees - and when I say literally - I mean my knees hit the floor in reverence and humility. God spoke to me that day and I was able to escape. I have been out for 7 years now. Trying to leave - well, I had been trying to do it on my OWN. Once I allowed God to take his rightful place in my heart once again, I was able to escape. I put God in a box even though I was raised in church and have been a Christian since I was 10. I knew the Bible, I knew all the stories, I knew how to lead others to Him but I felt God wasn’t present throughout all the abuse. I thought he was too small. God not only showed me his presence through this song, but made me realize the true Holiness of our God. Once I surrendered to his Holiness and and admitted I was completely defeated in my situation, it was then that His grace covered me and I have been out for 7 years. Glory be to God!

Arguably the most honest lyrics I've ever heard in a CCM song.... As an atheist I find this kind of honesty refreshing.

I guess people are surprised that an atheist is floating around listening to Christian music. This is a deep song that takes a true believer to admit that they have been in this place. What we do know is that we need more of Him.
@misterwizzerd8 жыл бұрын
+Constance Rogers I get the surprise, but it should be no surprise that many atheists were once believers. I loved the honesty of this song as a believer and still love it. Most Christians like songs and artists that don't line up with their beliefs. Likewise there are plenty of atheists with an appreciation for some Christian artists. It's not a music thing but even the late great atheist Christopher Hitchens considered C.S. Lewis one of his literary heroes.... Anyway, it's a pretty song that I love regardless of my beliefs or the beliefs of Addison Road.

Glad your listening in misterwiz. There are many such songs but it should be noted that some songs are meant for church and the words are always in the affirmative. This is an introspective song. My daughter just text me that her new favorite even though it is a couple years old. I agree it is nice. Dido on your comment on C.S. Lewis. Check out Keith Greens song: My Eyes Are Dry

Addison Road, We Thank you for all of your past Contributions and Future Contributions to Humanity. "I tried to hear from Heaven but I talked the Whole Time. Great Lyrics. Ask God a Question and then Listen for the answer. Fire, Fury, Sacred and Beautiful, God is all of these things. We Love You.

I wish the CCM would put out more songs like this one! A lot of the stuff today doesn’t have the move of God on it. This is still one of my favorites! What do I know of Holy? What a thought! And what a God!!!

LYRICS I made You promises a thousand times I tried to hear from Heaven But I talked the whole time I think I made You too small I never feared You at all No If You touched my face would I know You? Looked into my eyes could I behold You? [CHORUS] So What do I know of You Who spoke me into motion? Where have I even stood But the shore along Your ocean? Are You fire? Are You fury? Are You sacred? Are You beautiful? So What do I know? What do I know of Holy? I guess I thought that I had figured You out I knew all the stories and I learned to talk about How You were mighty to save Those were only empty words on a page Then I caught a glimpse of who You might be The slightest hint of You brought me down to my knees [CHORUS] So What do I know of You Who spoke me into motion? Where have I even stood But the shore along Your ocean? Are You fire? Are You fury? Are You sacred? Are You beautiful? So What do I know? What do I know of Holy? [CHORUS 2] What do I know of Holy? What do I know of wounds that will heal my shame? And a God who gave life it's name? What do I know of Holy? Of the One who the angels praise? All creation knows Your name On earth and heaven above What do I know of this love? [CHORUS] So What do I know of You Who spoke me into motion? Where have I even stood But the shore along Your ocean? Are You fire? Are You fury? Are You sacred? Are You beautiful? What do I know? What do I know of Holy? What do I know of Holy? What do I know of Holy?

I've always had a fascination with Angels and Archangels specifically through scripture a single Angel battled 200000 men into submission and Archangels are above them they are powerful warriors who are beyond my comprehension to know that even they praise God speaks volumes of God's power
