I have always liked Addison but this scene really made me respect her. She gave her personal opinion and supported Naomi's opinion but she respected Maya enough to not force either on her and allowed her to make her own choices.

I completely support abortion. I wouldnt do it myself but we have the right to choose. For all those people saying its murder are wrong in my opinion. If it cant survive outside the mother then its not a life. You don't want to bring a baby into this world with a mother who doesn't want them or being thtown into the system where they might never find a loving home.
@maddiesalvatore84194 жыл бұрын
Agreed!! And in some cases abortion can be more merciful than having the baby and letting it grow up in a toxic (and maybe even abusive) household. Oh and of course a woman should be allowed to do what she wants with her own body without being called a murderer, in my opinion.

My mom always said "mommy's babies, daddy's maybes". Pregnant Parents (esp preDNA) are not equal. Men could walk away in ways women could not. Even post DNA we can know who the father is, but society doesn't give him an equal burden.

I believe it's a choice and it's not made lightly. I almost hate that some people are fighting for kids who aren't even born versus kids who are desperately needing homes and love and someone to care about them. I absolutely hate well they can grow up to cure cancer well they could also grow up and be the next ted Bundy and considering they're growing up in the system it's not exactly promising a decent future. Im against very late abortions but those usually happens for other reasons such as complications during pregnancy not because the entire pregnancy itself isn't wanted

If the kid does not want an abortion, don't make her . Let her find out what birth really is . Teen pregnancy is not the way to go. It happens . All you can do is support her and encourage her to do the right thing .
@lesliehathaway7633Ай бұрын
If nobody wants an abortion they should not be forced to regardless if they are kid or not The whole teen pregnancy is not the way to go I was 17 and pregnant and I made the choice to keep my child because of the same beliefs as this 15-year-old and she seen what birth really was like because it was shown to her That's when she made the decision herself to keep her child because regardless inside or outside the room it is not the person's right to destroy that child as I do respect Addison I do not disagree that she is too young to be having sex in the first place but she made the decision to have sex and she chose to have that child her mother is in the wrong place to be making that decision for her child and that goes for anyone like you said all you can do is support and encourager to do the right thing If she wants to have the baby then that's the right thing but killing a baby just because somebody said they believe life starts at birth doesn't mean that that's the right thing People just use that concept because people play the women have rights to their bodies when really it's not about the fetus that's inside them It's their body their uterus!

It's not really alive yet. Addie knows best about it. If you remove this tiny tiny fetus from the mother, it can't survive. It doesn't think, it doesn't feel, it's not "really" alive even though it is. It's not a patient or a baby, it's just a clump of cells. Even though you might feel differently about the issue that is what science tells us. You can't argue science based only on your emotion. Are you a vegetarian btw? Because caring so much about something that isn't even capable of feeling or thinking yet should also indicate that you care about cows and pigs just as much. I mean pro life, right? These are lives you probably take. Lives that are worth something bc they can feel and think. Plus, you are ruining the life of the child and the mother. You can't force a child on somebody. So just stop.
@rebekahsegun83193 жыл бұрын
@@anastasiablume4439 Technically we're all clumps of cells. What about those so called clumps of cells who are say, brain dead on a vent? They also can't think 9r feel anything either. Are they less of a person because of that? There are severely disabled people who can barely think at all and would never be able to survive without someone else's help. Are they less of a person? Just being devil's advocate. And OP never said they wanted to force a baby on an unwilling woman. They very clearly stated adoption is an option if you don't want the child. So that there was just a strawman. Again, devil's advocate.

I believe in abortion and the right to choose but I dont think it's a laughing matter ESPECIALLY when the person is so young and aren't very mature. I also dont think that people that want to keep a fetus until birth are enemies. We have the right to choose. I respect either choice as long as it is done with consent and open minds in both cases and no one is forced into either decisions.
@SJ-vv8vt4 жыл бұрын
It's okay if you're personally against abortions and wouldn't want to get one yourself. But the moment you try to take that choice away from other women (by protesting and voting for pro-forced birth politicians), that's when you become the enemy.

The baby is not her body. It is another body inside her body. Addison (pretending to be a dr) saying life begins after birth is just not biologically correct.
@loveinspired72 жыл бұрын
I AGREE 100%. In elementary school, I learned how to discern what is considered "living", "non-living" and "dead". A "non-living" thing never had a life, nor could it ever come to life. (Examples: chair, desk, spoon, or CD); A "living" thing, is something that can change, move and/or grow over time. It also takes in nourishment and eliminates waste. (Examples: plants, animals humans... ) The term "dead" refers to something that _had_ a life, but is no longer living. So that statement "Life begins at birth" is totally B.S.. Whoever made up that nonsense was probably someone trying to assuage their own guilt for ending a human life. These doctors and scientists already know better! An embryo cannot change into a fetus or grow into a baby if there was no life present. It's a 100% IMPOSSIBILITY, and yet, a lot of them continue to support an explanation about life that is totally contrary to the scientific laws governing living, non-living and dead. I don't approve of abortion personally, but I _do_ understand that there are times when it may be necessary, and I respect the women's right to choose. I just wish they would stop trying to RE-DEFINE how "life" begins, because their arguments make no sense.

I liked Addison even though I didn't agree with her on abortion. I will never understand how a woman, especially someone who couldn't have children of her own, had no problem with other women having abortions. I do appreciate that she tried to be unbiased and let Maya decide regardless of other people's beliefs. But it did bother me how she contradicted herself when in one sentence she said life begins at birth and the next it's at 24 weeks when the fetus is viable outside the womb. Which is it? Btw I was so glad that Naomi's attempt at scaring Maya backfired! She was so out of line.
@joselyngz38383 жыл бұрын
She said that she believes that life doesn’t start until the fetus can survive outside the mother, not 24 weeks She said that UNTIL the 24th week of pregnancy what a person does with their body is their choice, then she proceed to say “It’s the law” meaning that wherever she is, abortion is legal until the 24th week And you can ”agree” with abortion even if you can’t have children because people that can get pregnant don’t owe anything to people who can’t
@Heida773 жыл бұрын
@@joselyngz3838 Watch it again. She says and I quote: "I believe that until a fetus can SURVIVE ON ITS OWN outside the mother's body it is not a life. I believe life begins at BIRTH." A fetus can survive on its own at 24 weeks and although premature labour is common, it's very uncommon THAT EARLY. Then she continues to say: "Until the 24th week of pregnancy what a woman does with her own body is her business." Again going back to 24 weeks. So is it at 24 weeks when the fetus is viable or when it's born?
