Magic is a real thing. How do you get 300 million people to back an effort that will ruin the lives of millions while getting the rest of them to pay for it with hundreds of billions of their tax dollars? Watching this film is much like what we’re seeing right now in this country. It’s sad, but it’s also funny. I feel like I’m in the twilight zone because I really don’t know if anything is real.

My thoughts are with u my friend. We are all slaves and this was the weapon used to program minds of naive people believing ih the word of nothing more than petty criminals. I wonder how these two feel about their roles in enslaving the humanity.

Its very sad that 34 years later the drug problem is just as bad if not worse than then. I ma a 66 year old British man and was a full on drug addict for nearly 40 years many of those as an injecting heroin addict. I am 15 years clean and life is real , its hard but real. I lost everything that means anything through drugs.

@@ricdavid7476 the drug problem is indeed worse than then. But the main culprits are the two who gave this speech. War on drugs has killed and imprisoned many young people, and on the tragic death of Len Bias he had the perfect scenario to pass even more laws that made clear his intentions: to treat the drug problem as a public safety issue instead of a public health issue. The truth is that they do not care about the youth. They only care about themselves and maintaining their power.

@@anonymousmobster2444 i met a lot of people in mental hospitals who were there as a direct result of smoking grass and hash and they had irreversible brain damage. Sure alcohol also causes brain damage but the notion that grass is an innocent plant is just laughable. tell that to the mexican cartels that traffic in the stuff you know those guys who are responsible for tens of thousands of the most sickening bestial murders every year. All drugs will enslave you that is what they are designed to do, tobacco , heroin, cocaine, grass , alcohol they are all bad and will kill you after they have enslaved you.

Just take a look at the drug war they had a huge part of. Cost many lives. Cost many their freedom over a plant. Failed policies that didn't work, even though they helped put many away. There's no marijuana shortage out there, it's being legalized over those failed policies. Crack is still available everywhere. And they knew prohibition doesn't work but launched it anyway so Big Pharma, Big Alcohol & tobacco can line their pockets for years without competition from any legal cannabis.

@atlas_is_lost
@atlas_is_lost 2 жыл бұрын
Jesus christ, you’re a moron. The people disagreeing in the comments are just talking about what an abysmal failure the war on drugs has turned out to be, they’re not condoning drug use. But all the war on drugs has done for us as a country is waste trillions of our tax dollars on mass incarceration of the dispossessed, but that’s a conversation for a different time, because that’s a whole lot more to unpack than just this. Anyways, Nancy’s stance, and by proxy, the government’s, towards chemical dependency was that all a person needed to do was just say “no.” If you’ve checked out some of the DSM-5, (Which I doubt you are, because you don’t seem like the type of person who’s taken time to study basic psychology. Or study anything for that matter.) you’d know that addiction is a disease. It’s classified as a disease because it is chronic, progressive, and fatal. Telling a drug addict to “just say no” cures addiction the same way “have a nice day!” cures depression. Telling someone all they have to do is say no not only oversimplifies an increasingly complex issue, but also allows the perpetuating of the myth that drug addiction is a choice. It created a national dialogue where there were people who made good choices, by saying no to drugs and people who made bad choices, by saying yes to drugs. It didn’t allow for any shade of gray or even the remote possibility that drug addiction was a compulsive act beyond the control of the person afflicted. I, myself, am in recovery from addiction… So I know what the fuck I’m talking about. ❤️😁

@@atlas_is_lost Don’t you know that Nancy is referring to people who have never tried drugs? And how can a person ever be a drug addict if they never try drugs and just say no?! She’s right, if you always say no, then you’ll never know if you’re an addict! Why doesn’t that make sense to y?
