While slavery is obviously something that no longer affects us as a whole, it makes no sense to expect black people to get over it, while simultaneously referring to people as the N-word on a consistent basis. It just seems very contradictory to me... That's like literally saying, "Hey you should forget about slavery and oppression, _my nigga!"_ Lol!

I don't think anyone touched on exactly why people would think this is an issue. There's nothing wrong with having a preference but the terminology that these guys used to describe black women was hella disrespectful. You can have a preference without being disrespectful. Often times when black men are asked why they don't like black women, they end up bashing on black women, giving us all types of stereotypes saying we're ratchet, we're loud we're ghetto, but I guarantee if you ask the same question but about white women or Latina women, they would have nothing to say and just chalk it up to a preference. All that to say is that black women are constantly degraded because of these stereotypes and colourism is truly a real thing within the black community so don't be shocked or confused as to why there's backlash. I would suggest instead of speaking on the things you don't like about black women to explain why you like other races, try to uplift the specific qualities of other races that makes you prefer them instead. Now that's what a preference is.
