I've read the same. I also read that so many people have nut allergies because pregnant women are told to avoid nuts. this means the baby's immune system cant deal with nuts after its born because it was never exposed to them in the first place

Fun fact, people are not born with allergies. As a baby, you’re introduced to things and for some reason your body decides it doesn’t like it and produces agents to attack it. But it doesn’t attack at first introduction, but will definitely be ready for future interactions. If that makes sense. So more on that, in order to know if your baby is allergic to the cats, he has to be introduced to them. Just get more information from your doctor, as you probably do, before experimenting with something that could potentially harm your newborn.

You build up immunities against allergies such as cats when you have cats around.. I had my dogs and cats round my kids at newborn age and now there is no allergy ;)

Family Of Hope Vlogs, Actually it's very common for parents to expose their children to things (peanut butter, dogs and cats, cinnamon and etc.) at an early age and they develop allergies to that item. P.s. That happens commonly, not all time so you still could be right I just wouldn’t suggest to Colleen if she sees this.

I've actually been allergic to cats since childhood (sneezing, itchy eyes, and wheezing) but recently my roommate had a cat and over about 6 months I built up an immunity to him where I'd only itch if he touched me but the wheezing and asthma totally went away. So I'd say this is true.

And even if Flynn does build an immunity, being a newborn is not the age to do it. Give his body a bit of time to develop first.

I was sent home from the hospital when I was born with allergy medicine my allergies were that severe. I just have seasonal allergies, so animal dander, pollen, dust, etc. But I couldn't breathe through my nose till I was 10 and my ears used to constantly be closed off. I remember sometimes they would pop like when you're on an airplane and everything would suddenly get loud and scare me. I had sinus infections all the time and wouldn't notice or react until it was so bad the doctors were mad at my mom for not bringing me in sooner. But it wasn't her fault; they were just so common for me I didn't feel them until they were that bad. Anyway, my point is, nothing could have prevented that for me. If I'm not mistaken, it's not a good idea to introduce your cats to your babies so early. Her having the dander on her clothes while around flynn is enough exposure at this age to develop a tolerance to cats.

Sheya Liu our pediatrician said it was fine, here’s why the moment you get an animal their hair and dander gets everywhere. It takes years of intense cleaning to get rid of all the dander and hair. It’s in the carpets furniture, clothes and vents. So any time they have their air running it’s circulating. Baby would’ve shown signs in the first few weeks like our son did. Our dr said it’s good to build your immune system. You just have to be careful with cats getting in the cribs and smothering the kids and the fact they get in the litter box and the chemicals cause be deadly to the baby if rubbed the feet on the baby.

I think its okay for flynn to be around cats. If he's allergic( most babys have not a lot of allergies) you would propebly know by now. Its good to expose kids on a young age to things like your cats so they wont be allergic. I love you and don't wanna be rude. I have learned this and want to give the tip to you to help. I love you, it is also ok to have animals close to your baby, you make their immune system stronger. Also haha you don’t know if somebody is allergic to something previous to an allergic reaction (most times) so.. haha nobody tells you even if they talk.

My DR told me to keep my newborn baby (I have 2 boys - no longer newborn) away from cats because their hair is so thin that it can be inhaled and cause breathing problems for the baby. Not sure when they can be co-habited with cats.

fercarcolin my brother is deathly allergic to cats so if we would have had pets when he was a baby he could’ve died but since he has his first reaction when he was 5 (we don’t have pets) and we were minutes away from the hospital so he’s okay

Yeah, I mean sometimes there's testing you can do beforehand to find out if your child has an allergy, but it's never terrible to be cautious lol

@@nxzumis, there are allergy tests that can be ran, but it wouldn't be pleasant for a baby. They literally poke around with little needles, to take samples. My son had it done and it looked like he was stung on his back by a ton of bees😂
